Yes they were developed before that was standard. Going forward the newer models were. This video was filmed a while back too.

Thanks for the kind words! If it helps any, I prefer the cub from the standpoint of it being a scale subject matter. I think the timber was offers more flight envelop options such as flaps but you can’t beat a cub for looks in the air!

Hi Steve. I'm new to RCs. I just bought an FMS Su-27. I'd like to install a gyro system and get telemetry with FPV so I can fly it like the real jets I fly :-) Will this system provide airspeed, altitude, a high refresh rate pitch ladder if it is somehow coupled with a digital video system? Is there an AS3X+ profile for the Su-27 (if even needed)? I'm not sure where to start on any of this.

@@AquariusTurtle this system doesn’t do that with FPV. You’d need a system like Eagle tree to have that info on screen.

To be honest I’m not sure. Wasn’t aware of the failures. We pulled on this one HARD in another flight and it seems fine. It’s in my shorts videos.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the vid. I have this arf and purchased the Saito 60 radial for it. Honestly didn’t think the 90 would fit in the cowl. Hoping the 60 will have enough power. Great flight and it looks fantastic!

was looking at radios today, and was surprised there is no NX6 and NX8, just the 8+ and the white one. Will there be an NX6 coming back in a + version, or a black 7+ ??? I dunno if I can do white, or go to the $400 price point of the 8+ ... One other difference I am basing part of my decision on, the 8+ specs only show DSMX, and the 7+ lists also working with DSM2, which might be important to some. Is that listing online correct? The nx8 was replaced by the nx8+. Essentially the same radio but with this update included for you. The nx6 was discontinued as the nx7e and the dx6e sort of replaced it. There likely will be other colors for then 7 coming next year. I recommend you check out the dx6e and dx8e radios for price point. As for the dsmx vs dsm2 comment. All our radios operate on both with all modern spektrum stuff running on dsmx.

Well done Steve! I enjoyed the flights! It’s crazy how good this J-3 flies with the stock length wings I can’t imagine how good it will be with the clipped wings and with floats off the water. Lots of options with this one and it really fills a niche in the Hangar 9 lineup.

Steve great video man! I couldn't agree more. The J-3 is such a great flyer...very smooth and flies so much bigger than it is. Much more capable than you would think it is and very efficient...long flight times. I also love that it is so much easier to deal with than a larger model like my 1/4 scale. H9 hit this one out of the park! Great flying and filming. You and your family have a Merry Christmas!

Hey Steve... Thanks for the update and info... So the NX8 update to 20 channel you mentioned... So its not a physical 12 channel update...more like 12 additional channels for mixing or control surface usability...meaning 4 servoes on a single action kinda thing....or did i miss something..

just bought an nx8 Have 2 BNF planes. Very confused if I can update to ax3s+ through the NX radio OR are cables required and computer updated??? Also do I model select 1st abd then 3x+ or vice versa? One video shows reset and do new Gyro serup Very unclear

You must update the RX through the computer. The radio needs to be updated to the latest firmware as well to access the new + menus. Model select, forward programming and then gyro.

hello. thanks for the new info. My 4 year old nx6 wifi transmitter charge port pushed through the back. Cant charge, otherwise great receiver so i just purchased a new one, same model. I tried registering it but could not because the nx6 was no longer listed on the list of models to choose from for registering. Question--- I love your big new announcement but can i update this transmitter and why can i not register it. I guess registering is really not necessary but can i up date using wifi. please help. I feel as though I've just spent my money on a brand new discontinued transmitter . Wasn't informed or even offered a discount. Can it be updated? Thank you.

You can update your NX6 to achieve 14 channels with this upate. If you're having trouble with registering, I would suggest calling into product support to have them walk you through it. You did not waste your money! I would suggest using the wifi capabilities to update it, however.

The Spektrum NX7E has some really bad flaws to it especially if you fly helis. For starters the radio is super light and feels very cheap, like the radios you get from most bnf helis, and the gimble sticks just feel super long its kind of weird. Now onto bigger things such as having to hit the Start, and Scroll button during initial startup to access the System Setup was kind of ridiculous, as well as having it 3/4 the way down the menu while it's the number 1 menu item you'll be using. The G switch for hold has always been a 2 position switch, now it's a 3, so now if you hit the G switch to turn off the motor and accidentally go to the 3rd position the motor will turn back on! Not good for emergency situations. Another annoyance if you fly helicopters they changed the verbage from 90° single servo, or mechanical to "Normal" for Flybarless Units. No fbl unit that I've ever used called the swash type, "Normal." So another thing to look out for. I really only got this radio for small bnf heli so I don't need to buy a bunch of new rx, and fbl units to use my Jeti tx. I'm sure in the next year or so in true HH fashion it will be discontinued and gone. I really miss my old DX8, was probably one of the best radios ever made.

It's a super nice stand, however not worth 1/2 of a thousand dollars. I want one but my top price to pay for something like this is $125 and that's pushing it. I'll have to make my own. Thanks for the video!
