bringing up Ravel and Debussy is almost cheating when it comes to making water sounds on the piano. There's also Debussy's Sunken Cathedral for the underwater sound, Saint Saen's Aquarium, Ravel Jeux d'eau, Debussy's La Mer, etc

The Chopin has no business being in there, because it does not depict water. People other than Chopin made that connection, but he never did.

Water has got to be the most interesting thing to display through music! It's so organic, but also has so many different qualities.

Mm. 5-6 in Ravel’s Ondine is showing the misprint from the original Durand edition (first printing). The RH pattern actually should not change in these measures, and later, as well.

There are three layers: the pedal Db Ab in the bass, the middle foreground melody which is like the centre point while the accompanying chords create the third, ripple-like layer.

Even normal KZbin has become a video click format like KZbin shorts. Have any of you noticed how short KZbin videos are now? Going off the deepend into endless scrolling is unintentionally taking over. This is that exact type of video, something about an unknown topic like "just nursed my baby deer back to life" or "have you seen this new recipe." Find me a site that isn't doing this or doesn't have a form of "shorts" style videos.
@skylarlimex3 күн бұрын
I'll admit that I have a lot of shorter videos but I wouldn't say 3 minutes crosses the "shorts" duration of a minute. I believe in compacting my videos as much as possible in terms of information so I don't waste anyone's time more than necessary: those interested can take their time to revise the different points in the video as much as they'd like while others who simply enjoy the guided listening don't have to watch a 10 minute video. That's also why I try to supplement additional information in the description which I couldn't get in the video. That's simply my format style right not which works for my schedule as well, you'll find that KZbin actually favours longer videos now since they already have the shorts format so in a way I'm disadvantaged. Most videos on KZbin have quite a considerable length.
@WitchKing-Of-Angmar3 күн бұрын
@@skylarlimex No no you've done nothing wrong, that's why I never really adressed you. It's the algorithm doing it. Throwing random shorter videos that are basically the same as KZbin shorts on the front page. It's messing with me because I feel like every site is against making you comfortable. We don't realize just HOW amazing life would be if ingenious people who cared about the public, designed things. Perhaps the levity and convenience makes like passed too fast, but it would be so far less stressful than the hellthat KZbin and other sites are. You don't change anything about you, keep making content!

While I know no classic examples, as soon it goes under water, popculture (especially games) tend to use long notes and low pitches to mimic the acoustics under water.
