Listen I run a crew of 14 guys, some of the newer guys still use our hand down estwing 22oz framing hammer. Myself and the other lead man, we use stilleto 14oz titanium framing hammer. Which feels like 14oz though hits like a 24oz. I’ve had mine over 6 years now, replaced the handle 3 times I think. In total over 6 years it’s cost me about $130. I’m ver curious to see how your hammers handle and feel when your swinging it repeatedly or installing hanger nails…. I’ve wanted to upgrade my whole crew for awhile, though I really need to get my hands on one of these and try it before I dump $300 into a hammer that could potentially be worse than what we already have. I been in the business 10 years and soo many times ppl come out with these gimmicky tools and they never quite perform as they should. I’m very curious what the hype is about… is it just because you can customize the colors or what? Because stilleto offers a very similar option at half the cost.

@ 2:00 you can try vice grips, or you can use a drill and tighten it to the bolt and it might come out like that also. An impact won’t work, has to be a drill

I have a Mini 14. Needs a new grip. Stiletto said they only support the newest model. So…go spend $300 on a hammer that’s supposed to last and the Achilles heel is a flipping consumable grip! That is BS! That’s like buying a Rolex and if the clasp breaks, have to buy a new watch. Told my wife I want a Martinez M4 for a Christmas present. Stiletto is a dumpster fire.

So, how many ft/lbs of torque is that, bud ? A 3/8 UNF thread bolt could be 28, to 44 ft/lbs, depending on grade. How can you be serious about a $300 hammer, but pretend critical fastener torque doesn't matter ?

Be careful buying a Martinez hammer. I purchased one a couple of weeks ago. It was finally mailed out and the hammer was damaged. The paint was peeling off. There was some rust on the hammer the handle was discolored. I reached out to Martinez through email and I have gotten absolutely nowhere.

Can’t see spending as much for a hammer as a nail gun. I’m sticking with my 3 decade old curved claw Plumb 13. It doesn’t have replaceable parts but it’s never needed any. Now the only curved claw hammers are in the bargain bin at the bottom of the hammer wall. I don’t need my hammer to be an axe/prybar. I use expensive Granfors bars for that. They have no equal. How about making a curved claw head or a titanium pry bar.
