Lovely piece ! The title of the painting, " The Dull Husband " : Maybe he was supposed to accompany his wife's harp but with the Lute ( on the floor ) or Cembalo ( in the back) but he fell asleep! 🤣

Magic Flute 1791., is a "mosaic" created from musical ideas: Wranitzky: "Oberon, Koenig der Elfen" 1789.; Soler: "L'arbore di Diana" 1787. "Der Stein der Weisen, oder die Zauberinsel"1790. (The Philosopher's Stone, or the Enchanted Isle) is a singspiel in two acts, jointly composed by Johann Baptist Henneberg, Benedikt Schack, Franz Xaver Gerl, Emanuel Schikaneder, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1790. The libretto was written by Schikaneder. The opera has several important parallels to Mozart's The Magic Flute, which premiered a year later.

I now have 3 Sinfonia’s by Maldere the Flemish Maestro of the Vienna Classical style especially Strum and Drang. A cruel illness which took his young life robbing the musical world of the symphony ace equal to the big hitters of Vienna.❤

What an able and brilliant composer, and to have produced this endearing and very competent mass at the age of 21!

Another superb work by the Flemish Maestro of Strum and Drang his music must have influenced many composers of the Vienna Classical Symphony. Pity illness cut short this genius that could have been a big hitter like many of his contemporaries.❤

Lovely Sinfonia here by Maldere who was the Flemish Maestro ( there must have been others?) of the Viennese Classical style especially the S&D of Haydn and some Ditters too , but he was his own man too ❤it thank you Pau more of his music warrants further listening.

Delightful music here Pau thank you. I find it interesting that the harpsichord hung on in Bohemia and Czech courts when in Vienna the fortepiano began to be the dominant keyboard instrument. Indeed at a time when Ludwig Van Beethoven was starting his symphony cycle?❤It.
