I tried to follow your guide the create a DSM for my Phantom 4 RTK, however I live in Australia and the last part with Adjusting the SRTM data with the NOAA VDATUM online transformation tool doesn't work for Australia. I tried to work it out myself and I think my offset is about 43 meters. I entered that in the Raster Calculator and got a TIF File, but I can't see in on my controller(yes I created the DJI/DSM directories on my SD card). Would really like to add a DSM file to map my property as I have a creek one end and a really high hill at the other end of it. (about 110 meters difference between the lowest and highest points) Thank you for any help you can offer.

For the DJI, The Worry-Free plus add-on can't be beat. If you have a drone issues (crash, fly-away, Etc) for a small fee you get a new drone or yours repaired. With all the others you basically have to buy a new drone.

The internet chatter is saying it's not really an option on this aircraft. Have you done any terrain follow with the Evo?

Actually, the rest of the world's surveyors use metric. So limiting your accuracy reference (14:35) to "tenth of a foot" also limits your clientele. Perhaps Aerotas only does business in the USA? I work in the USA, but try to be fairly fluent in metric as it relates to surveying. Give it a try!

You failed to mention the the updated IP55 rating the drone and IP4 rating on controller. You can fly the rain if necessary. Also I do not know if the Battery Charger cool down feature is an upgrade Charging Station from the M300 version. The new T65 batteries also have new fin design to help disapate heat for quicker cool downs while in the chaging station. The RTK antennas have also been upgraded to allow easier maintanance and replacement installation. Did you mention the FPV night vision capabilities,? I know not a mapping camera but great for SAR missions after dark.

Thanks heaps for your sharing! For a 30skm mining survey to identify outcrops from black color manganese ore at 30-50cm dimensions. Do you suggest P1 or L1 for the work? Or manned plane is good enough to get 5-10cm / pixel high resolution photos? Another issue is the terrain follow function as the outcrop is somewhere 100m elevation difference. Do we need to use Terrain follow for the task which means L1 might not be applicable for terrain follow function? Really appreciate your thoughts. Billion Thanks!

Awesome content as always. Regarding your comment about the narrow P1 lens: I believe DJI now officially support the 24mm and 50mm lenses for that payload. See latest P1 firmware updates for evidence of this. 🙂

It boggles the mind how Americans tolerate communist DJI's draconian and tedious geofencing. No other drone manufacturer dares to tell the buyer of their products where and when they can fly, so why do we let DJI get away with this? Imagine if your car refused to let you drive to a certain destination based solely on the carmakers discretion? It's madness! DJI is a communist company based in communist country and their policies reflect that. DJI doesn't care if we hold a Part 107 ticket or even if we've received LAANC authorization because in DJI's twisted view they supersede the FAA and we don't actually "own" their product. No, at best we merely purchase the right to use their drones when and how DJI dictates, and until someone with the means steps up and files a proper class action lawsuit to put an end to this [aside from LAANC authorizations] flying DJI drones will never, ever be a spontaneous experience.

Found contents to be of great help. Absorbing the processes. This workflow applies to drone aerial surveying for forestry also right? with exceptions of software I assume. I am new. No drone experience. I am a planter. Buying a M3 Multispectral, a T40 Agras Sprayer, GNSS mobile station, Terra Software, dedicated laptop, gen-set inverter/battery charger,etc. Dont know what I'm getting myself into. Wish me luck.
