The rain cover for this bag is twice as costly as the bag itself. I'd rather save up 3 more dollar every week of the month to get an actual hiking bag or an Every day bag.

Thanks for a very precise review. Keep up the good work. Just for an update on current version that they selling here I Thailand, after I watched your review, I went to my nearest Decathlon and bought 23L one. But I found out later that they cut some nice features in current version to keep the cost down. 1) No hidden side pocket behind water bottle sleeve. 2) No zipper pocket in the front pocket, just the mesh pocket and key loop no zipper pocket behind. 3) No inside side pocket (where you can put a powerbank in, hence no hole for the charger cable. I'm quite disappointed about that because the first 2 are what I would love to have. Anyway, I think it would serve me well during my Japan trip in the next few months.
@PackingLess18 күн бұрын
Hey yes I think I read somewhere recently they changed it, unfortunately theres no way to update the video but I might include it somewhere in the pinned comment that they have now changed the design a bit. I wonder why, maybe its cheaper to produce without the extra features?

Thanks for this video. I have actually considering holafly as an esim for an upcoming trip. Saily is another alternative that I am considering. Why did you decide on holafly over the other offerings?
@PackingLess26 күн бұрын
Mainly because of the unlimited data and they have good regional packs, like the whole of europe covered in 1 sim. And they reached out to me first too haha, but it was good to have no limit on the data
@Youknowthebo25 күн бұрын
@@PackingLess ok, the unlimited data and the multiple countries of coverage are very valid reasons
@silvestang7326 күн бұрын
I only checked one destination for myself but because this is unlimited it is so expensive relative to just getting 1 or 2 GB per week. Unlimited data is useless when on vacation and if you are getting full value, why even be on vacation?
@PackingLess26 күн бұрын
Hey I totally understand it is fairly dear but it was nice not having to worry about data limits. I can totally see how getting a 3gb sim might be a lot better for some people if they want to instead rely on connecting to wifi around the place for high data situations.

Please stop with the misinformation. Physical sim is cheaper and more secure.

Curious to see if a standard 16oz water bottle could fit horizontally in the bottom pocket. Facing the zipper, the bottle could be accessed easily when the bag is slung around under one arm. I rarely compromise on water bottle pockets, but a $200 sub-2lbs 30L bag is a serious contender for the next buy. Travelers often underestimate a lightweight bag until they try mine, then they begin to regret their Gorucks and Aers lmao
@PackingLessАй бұрын
I'll try a few bottles in it in the full review but I agree sub 2lbs is so noticeable when you wear it travelling

It's tempting to have a backpack so light, but the lack of external/side pockets is a weak point. I put so many things like receipts in my water bottle pockets without even needing to take off my backpack.
@PackingLessАй бұрын
I often put receipts in my back pocket but I can see how using a water bottle pocket as a stuff pocket would be useful.

This is too much form over function. Cold water in a nice, steel bottle like a hydroflask has been a godsend in Italian heat waves to Southeast Asian treks in the jungle. We cannot assume there is potable water wherever we go.
@themoon6178Ай бұрын
@@v4714v Trekking in the jungle is not exactly the intended purpose of this backpack though. It's clearly designed for more casual travel, from A to B, with the benefits of a suitcase/backpack combination and the tradeoffs that come with it. And in this case, for most people, a sleek and more minimal design has higher value than having all the bells and whistles, that often come at the cost of a good design aesthetically. And after all, most regular water bottles can fit perfectly in the top compartment on the front.
@andljoyАй бұрын
No offence to you my friend but i woud rather die than wear one of them stupid things ever again.
@themoon6178Ай бұрын
Thanks for showing how the main compartment could be easily accessed from the top, without having to open the whole thing. Haven’t seen any other reviews demonstrating that, and for me it’s pretty important to access the interior quickly for things like my water bottle. Not super elegant to have to partially unzip the main compartment inside but I believe it’s a worthy trade off to still be able to have some organisation in there. Thanks for the review
@PackingLessАй бұрын
My pleasure, I guess you dont technically have to even use that zippered mesh compartment, just keep it unzipped and it would work like any other bag but it does add extra security of holding things in place
