How do you explain to your Bio kid why they are held to your standards of behavior, but the step kids are not held to the same standards by their bio parent? It makes me feel like a mean parent to my own Bio kid. 😔

My wife and I have a ticketing system. It's actually much more than than. It's a bucket list, to do list, wish list, recurring tasks (home maintenance), reminder system all in one. Happy to share with anyone interested. The idea at the end of the day is you only have so much time and money, so everything gets dumped into 1 system and the most relevant items are at the top and you just work "the list" with any time you have.

I remember 6 years ago when hcbm tried this and told me that he would cheat. It's SO hard to get past this, even though he claims that he hasn't. She hasn't seen her son in 2 years and lives 20 minutes away. 😢 Gosh, we've been there, but we also can't imagine

Thank you for this episode. I can relate so much. It's great to know I'm not alone in having to focus on myself and not their lives and situations. Growing in new ways and keeping healthy boundaries now.

I love this! I am a biologically childless stepmother of 3 adult amazing adults! The youngest was 19/20 when we got together. He is 14 years older than me! I was very blessed for their acceptance and love and very rewarding experience to me. I can honestly say I also like their mother as well. Treat others with kindness and grace . I was very blessed

Being a childless stepdad is a BIG mistake. You will always finish last, even if you respect the positions of the bio-parents & are good to the step kids (of ANY age, ranging from child to adult). You are entering into a life that will make you a regular afterthought & and one in which you may be shown contempt, even if you came on the scene long after the primary marriage was dissolved. I would like to hear more perspectives from childless step parents. I am more alone in life after joining this family than before I met my wife and this soul-sucking family and meddling bio-dad.

We sympathize with your challenges and struggles @cyberkraft. You are right, blended family situations are very, very difficult. People have different experiences, so I would not say every childless stepdad will finish last or have the same challenges. However, I hope you are getting or seeking counseling or coaching to help you and your family improve your blend. Thank you for being a listener and we'll surely get more perspectives on the show.

Its mental abuse and parental alienation and the courts do nothing to protect the parental rights of the father.

I’m wondering why the bio dad isn’t on child support. It seems like he’s financially stable so he should be on child support. I don’t know why women don’t put the fathers of their kids on child support yet expect the stepdad to foot all the bills. The mom was selfish for not letting the daughter live with her bio dad. She’s probably used to her dad being a Disney dad and not enforcing any rules like the stepdad who has to live with her full time. She was acting out bc she misses her dad. The mom wasn’t mature enough to put her feelings to the side and let her daughter spend more time with her dad.

Alot of people don't seem to realize that alot of stepdads are struggling too, mostly because they're less vocal about it. They have a very different set of struggles too because most times they're expected to be the father figure and provider for a child that they're not allowed to really parent. Women tend to have a more "momma bear" approach with their kids, so that definitely adds a whole different set of struggles for the man

I believe stepmothers make their life more complicated than it needs to be. As long as the stepkids aren’t doing anything harmful, leave it alone. Not your kids, not your problem.

It really stinks to see children know they are being neglected or mistreated at one household but still choose that home over the loving parent who is doing everything right. 😔😥

I used to think that love could cure anything but it only fed my narc's enormous ego. It is important to be wise when dealing with a narcissist and I’m glad that cyberhackinggenius helped cloned my wife’ phone. I got access to all her dealings both on phone and social media without touching her phone. I’m here in Nevada USA and able to access my wife’s phone with a cloned app even while she was away in the UK and cheating on me. All I did was share my wife’s phone number with Cyberhackinggenius and I was able to read both her new and deleted messages from my phone through a remote link to a programmed app containing cloned cell information without having to touch her phone. My wife was a cheating Narcissist and I’m glad to find out all her secrets and infidelity with the help of cyberhackinggenius. I’m finally going through divorce with lots of evidence against her. I read all her deleted and recent chats on Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram. You can contact this great hacker “Gavin” via Gmail (cyberhackinggenius) or text and speak to him directly on his phone and WhatsApp : +19256795146 and thank me later!
