Your English is so fluent to the extent that I thought you're a native English speaker. Wow すごいですね。Secondly, the way you arranged your materials as if you knew the struggles of foreigners learning Japanese made me thought that you're actually not a Japanese 😂 I really love how you present and teach Japanese. Please keep up the good work!

I just discovered your channel. Thank you for the lessons! I really like your style, very clear and comprehensive and no-nonsense. The clarifications on actual usage vs what's taught in MNN (eg. he vs ni for direction) is very helpful as well.

Takashi sensei, i'd stumble this on an online course. A:Tabemono wa nani (ga) suki desu ka. B:Sakana (ga) suki desu. Niku (wa)amari sukijanai desu. everytime the sentence is negative (amari) it alway uses wa particle, but if it's positif, it uses ga. but, my sensei here, he said that for suki, we have to use (ga) can you please enlighten me a little bit? hontou ni arigatoo gozaimasu.

Both が and は can be used with すきです (affirmative) and すきじゃないです (negative), and both are grammatically correct. However, the combinations Xがすきです and Xはすきじゃないです are particularly common. It’s because when you say “I like X”, X is usually the most important piece of information in the sentence or new information that deserves emphasis. In this case, が is commonly used. On the other hand, when you say “I don’t like X”, X is often already the topic of conversation. For example: “Where should we eat? How about sushi?” “Oh, I don’t like sushi (=すしはすきじゃないです).” However, if X is something you want to emphasize even in a negative statement, you can use が. For instance: “What do you dislike about Japan?” “I don’t like summer in Japan (=日本のなつがすきじゃないです).”
