The guy who was also at the rave and recorded the original set to DAT said it was in bad shape in spots, worse than my copy. He was going to look in to sending it off to a recovery service, but that's been 3 or 4 years now and I very much doubt it will ever happen. No telling whether or not the trouble spots on the DAT could even be recovered. As far as I know, my MP3 is the best copy still around after all these years. KZbin probably re-compressed it, not sure, but I still have my MP3.

It may well be my favorite set. It was a great little rave too. There must have been a basement or sub basement underneath the building because I remember the wood floor bouncing like crazy to the bass. Even the dead bugs in the florescent light covers in the bathrooms were dancing to the bass lol.

Eric Denney there are probably 50 people who have enjoyed this set over the past 18 years who will hear about this. We've all been listening to this with what sounds like mixtape distortion on it. I tried to give a copy of it to Christopher in Baltimore in 2000 or 2001. He didn't recall the set. I really appreciate you posting this set. My 8 year old son and I were listening to it just 3 days ago

Good to know others enjoy it as much as I and some of my old friends do. I'm sure KZbin degraded the quality, but I keep a good digital copy on my computer that I made from my original tape back in 96, so if you ever need the file let me know. A couple years ago by complete coincidence I found the guy that actually recorded this set that night. He still had the original DAT he made, but part of it was messed up. He said my copy was actually better in some places. He was going to look into seeing if a service might be able to repair the damaged DAT, but as far as I know he never went that far or it wasn't successful. Shame, I'd love to have a flawless copy from the original DAT. I got my copy from a friend's tape shortly after the rave, so mine is at least 3rd generation, maybe more. I still have that tape.

RE: The original DAT, I think I have a descendant of that, because there are some very unfortunate spots where the music completely fades out (sounds like physical damage to the media), and both times they are at critical junctures. Haha, I never imagined I'd see this set on youtube in a video of a dog playing in the snow. Until recently I suspected I might have the only copy in existence until I happened across the guy who actually recorded it. I doubt there are more than a few copies still floating around, unless they've ripped them from this video. My copy isn't completely perfect, but I think those were minor issues with the original recording. I'll get it posted somewhere that it can be downloaded and I'll post a link here.
