This song did not need any female as a back _ up vocalist? This is a haunting reminder of the melancholic world we live , the wars , long live the R.S.!!

And? That was the custom on live television back then. The vocals are live, but the instrumentation is not.

Tell me somebody please how they make that solo guitar effect in that song? At 1:54 the solo guitar
@mikeberg5003

It's not a guitar, it's a harmonica. Mick is singing live but everything else you're hearing is just the instrumental from the album version of the song.

Always better on the album. The live stuff, especially Mick, was always sub par.
@fuchsiaswing8545

Subpar? You’re nuts. Listen to Pink Floyd stand still and attempt to emulate a recording perfectly then. I'll take the raw energy and dissonance of the Stones over that bore-fest every time. It’s rock and roll, not a night at the opera.

The organized chaos of this song, the edge of cacophony, that all keeps the time, it is as if we suddenly feel the war burning toward our door. All those people in history who needed shelter from the bombs and still do... they captured it.
