This is a TV show and probably they’re miming. When the song was first recorded, Mick Taylor didn’t play with the Stones yet; Richards had to write and play all the guitar parts for the absence of Jones and maybe that’s why we can hardly see him on this footage

You are so right about the sonics - the sound of this song. I was there in '69 to buy it own it listen to it. And I've been listeing ever since. Let it Bleed is their best album of all time and it never disappoints, especially this great, phenomenal track.

Was just think about where it ranks. What's going on (Marvin Gaye) is number 1. Gimme Shelter is definitely top 10. No shame in that. Amazing, amazing, amazing song!
