Guys, I received this lens for my Fuji x-s 10 today. And when I hit the record button nothing happens... The most interesting, that when I use remote control from my phone, I can record the video and take photos, but to make a video for example, right from the camera, it doesn't work. I have a 18-55 mm lens and everything is good. Can someone tell what can it be?

I had a different experience with my copy of the 23 f2. I was a bit underwhelmed compared with the performance of the 35 f2. The latter was a brillant lens and the details popped out of the screen to me. But the 23 f2 eventually got replaced with the little pancake 27 f2.8 which delivered better results for me. I strongly suggest you try that one out!

To find an X-T1 whose D-pad buttons are clickable, look for a serial number that starts with 44 (2014, Quarter 4). On tge later oroduction runs, the X-T1's accessory door is m9re rigid and will remain closed. All silver X-T1s were made in 2014 Quarter 4 or later. I bought my silver X-T1 on 2024-09-21 on eBay for $550 shipped with the Fujifilm acessory grip, when most silvers were going for $600 to $800.

I don’t know exactly how different the xpro2 is from the xpro3 at this point but as a xpro3 owner, the best part is the OVF with manual focus lenses using the small screen patch just for focus peaking. I do have the frame lines for every manual focus lens I own, I just have to create a “profile” at the menu: shutting settings > mount adapter settings > lens registration. I put the lens name and focal length. This focal length will update the frame lines in the OVF and also store the lens data in the exif. Not the aperture because my lenses do not have digital contacts (like a Voigtlander) but I use old lenses with a m43 adapter (Helios, SMC Takumar) and new ones such as TTArtisan 17 and 25mm, Mitakon 35mm and I love it. The small screen patch can even work with 3 zoom levels that I assigned to a front button. That small screen to me is useless for other things but only the focus peaking to me and is an amazing alternative to a Leica system. Again, I do not know how it is in the xpro2 but hope that there is a way to get to what I have in the Xpro3.

Hows the AF perform in lower light in your experience? I dont really shoot film in low light but wouldnt mind grabbing a roll or two of some 800 speed film for the holidays when family visits and was curious how this camera would perform indoors with artificial light

Interesting, I just realized that if you print B&W you don't really need a 12-ink printer. This is coming from a Canon Pro-1000 user. And yeah I use Smooth Pearl too, it covers almost all my needs.

Do you find the Auto Focusing to be a problem in using the X-H1 . . missing shots that should have been tack on? Thank You !

I picked up the XH1 in June and can’t agree more with Craig’s comments. I photographed a wedding and it was perfect. Autofocus was very good, lots of great pictures, tack sharp with a good quality lens, 33 1.4 and 16 1.4

As I'm not a pro any longer, today I prefer the F801s to the magic F4 which is indeed a very powerful camera - the 'Camera of the Year' when released. Maybe its AF isn't up to date, but I never missed AF because as a designing and not kalaschnikow-shooting photographer I prefer focusing very decidedly according to my own preferences without having to struggle with AF locks. Concerning the F3: phantastic with the MD-4 and in this combo best handling ever, I agree. But without this MD-4, the F3 is too small for my hands, and I cannot see any progress compared to the F2; so the F2 is my favourite.

I've owned an EOS 50 (Elan II) since 1996, and I brought it out of its decade long retirement. In addition, I recently purchased an EOS 55 (Elan IIE with panoramic feature) and a 28-80mm lens in Japan for under US$70.

What do you think of the autofocus? Knowing that it is bad on the Xh2s, it's hard to imagine good autofocus on the X-E2. But maybe it's less serious in photos than in video. Do you use point and shot or face detection? Does the quality of the autofocus allow you to calmly invest in Fujifilm lenses which are poor in manual mode and autofocus both ?

Is the longevity of your prints the only benefit you've got with P700? I've seen quite a few pigment prints and they all lack small details and the quality in general. Recently, I aquired an original Hahnemuhle demo-book of photos printed on their papers from high-end pigment printets from the past. I was blown away how they look so inferior to my Pro-100 prints. I was able to find the same sample BW photo that was printed on FineArt Baryta and printed it myself on my printer. The blacks on my print were much deeper and the details were just on a different level.

I just got back my exact X-H1 that I sold a year ago. I really missed it. I won't make that mistake again. It's a keeper. I traded it on a Sony full frame. I will keep that Sony for a while until I am ready to upgrade it to another full frame, but the X-H1 isn't going anywhere, ever again. Regarding the exposure compensation dial, that is the Biggest waste of real estate on the Fuji bodies in my opinion, especiallythe X-H1. I very rarely used it on my X-T1, but I use that top deck lcd screen every single time I use the X-H1. Thanks for making a great, retrospective summary video of what we love about this unique, wonderful camera body.

When I was 14 years old, around 1991, the school photographer was visiting for the day and he had an F4 around his neck-I will never forget seeing that camera for the first time. I was in love with it IMMEDIATELY. He saw how big my eyes were so he took it off and practically tossed the camera to me and told me to take a few snaps with it! From that day on, I KNEW I was gonna be a photographer and someday have an F4. Today, I am STILL a photographer and I have TWO mint condition F4’s, both late models with serial numbers starting with 260-meaning they are some of the last F4’s to be manufactured, and they look FLAWLESS. I still get excited by the F4, such a beautiful camera. I use them mainly with manual-focus, Ai-S lenses which look and function beautifully. I get matrix metering with manual glass and an electronic rangefinder for checking focus! It’s really the best tool for manual-focus, film shooters. The metering options alone are enough to convince me.
