I love this version of Music of the Night. Ramin doesn’t touch her. He reminds me of a teenage boy bringing his girlfriend over for the first time, kind of shying away, and watching her interact with his room. It really plays into the phantoms emotional immaturity, and into the fact he’s a little socially delayed when it comes to these things. I also really liked the little detail of Christine leaning in for a kiss, and him pulling away, kind of embarrassed and skittish.

Just out of curiosity, I couldn't help but notice that the cast members clapped for every performer who came out except for Ramin. I wonder if this was intentional or if there was any meaning to it? Even the audience seemed less enthusiastic about him than Cristine and Raoul based on the applause or I may just be reading too much into it.

whoever's conducting here or responsible for the music direction is doing such a good job (apart from the one bit after point of no return when Ramin's tempo started slower than the orchestra)!! it makes the show way more exciting and emotionally engaging. like, I've heard so many versions where they just don't hold things out for long enough and skip all the pauses or play everything too slowly, but this recording is just... paced perfectly? granted, All I Ask of You might be too fast for some people's taste, but I actually think it works well here since it's balanced out with a hefty load of rubato and orchestra swells that fit the music (and dramatic situation) stylistically

Wonderful, delicate, magical... The arrangements and melodies are perfect. I was very young when I knew the original piece, and I got hypnotized by. I was transported to a magical melancholic romantic fantastic world! Then, listening to this... what a beautiful and lovely version. I love you Lloyd-Webber family for giving us such a gift!

Why has there not been a phantom of the opera anime yet? Such a waste of a good thing! I loved the 2004 film with Gerard Butler and recently finished rereading Vampire Knight last night. I was just feeling someone could take the phantom story and make a darn good anime similar to vk. Someone needs to do it! I need some new love triangles going! Lol
