"Why I switched to Spotify after 9 years of Apple Music ?" - Because I don't like quality sound 😂

I like Apple Music and will stick with them. FYI for all of the things you didn't like about Apple Music, which annoyed you like the playlist organization and stuff - there's an app called Cider which is a third party app that works with Apple Music and it it's far superior to the standard app, and yes, it does include the "recently listening to" thing in there as well. They have podcasts integrated into the app, etc. and while people have varying opinions on the quality of the recommendations one gets on Spotify vs Apple Music, I have always found a lot of great recommendations via the iTunes/Apple Music genius engine, plus I also have been using something called "iTunes Match" which IDK if they even sell anymore, but I've been grandfathered into it for a *long time* (like almost 20 years) and basically it keeps a cloud-stored version of all of the songs in my entire music library on Apple's servers. So I have several terabytes of high quality mp3s including a lot of stuff that would be impossible to find on *any* streaming service, available on any device I want to use. It costs me (I think) like 29 bucks a year, which is more than fair IMO.

the last listening to history on spotify is a game changer, not even youtube music has it as far as i am aware i find the sound quality to be better equalised on spotify as well

Could you please explain how and why playlists are used? I just put all my liked songs in one playlist and listen to it again and again.
@eileens_behindthescenes20 сағат бұрын
So for me- I feel like my music taste changes a lot throughout the year so I make a monthly playlist and put songs that get stuck in my head or remind me of the specific season. It’s helpful for me because sometimes I want to listen to a certain genre or songs that aren’t in my library or songs that I liked a long time ago. It’s just a personal preference thing for vibes, but super subjective!! Thanks for the comment :)

That made no sense - 9 years of Apple Music while Spotify was actually better ?? Spotify degraded over time with their stubbornness to HQ Audio and stupid UI on desktop and mobile and now u switch ?? and for all the reasons, "Spotify wrapped makes you cool" is one of them (cmon) ??
@eileens_behindthescenesКүн бұрын
Well to address your concerns, I didn't realize Spotify had these features or I would have switched earlier. Spotify may have lower audio quality but I don't find myself hearing too much of a difference, I supposed that's subjective though. Another thing that is highly subjective is the UI. Personally I like the UI of Spotify more and the main thing for me was being able to customize my organization of stuff in my library. And Spotify making me "cooler" is a joke, but to say that it has no social aspect at all would be to lie. Music itself can be a way to engage in social affairs, and so if more people who I know are using Spotify, then it's a valid way for me to connect with them through this app. I appreciate your critiques and viewership, so thanks for the comment!

Great video Eileen! Personally, I've been using Spotify for the past 10 years and want to switch to KZbin Premium (a.k.a. KZbin Music) since it's only a few dollars more than Spotify and gives you both KZbin Music, ad-free KZbin, and you can just download KZbin videos directly in their app so you don't have to "rip" videos and mess around with converting them to MP3 and transferring them to your phone like you have to do with Apple Music and Spotify. The one thing keeping me away from doing the switch is my playlists, one of them has a few thousand songs in it. But thank you for recommending SongShift - it might help! 😊
@eileens_behindthescenes2 күн бұрын
Thank you! That’s interesting I didn’t know that about KZbin music… I wonder though how their organization system is. Good luck if you move your music!!

As soon as I saw the word iPod in the video, I zoomed in like a jet. I have so many bands and artists on my iPod Classic ranging from pop, country, rock and metal. I can go from music that is girly AF one moment to music that either goes hard or it switches to some dark stuff. I’ll be reaching 3000 songs on my device at some point which is great cause my iPod has 128 gb of storage which means having a hell of a lot of music. I ordered a hot pink case and Kuromi earbuds and puffy stickers and will be turning my Pusheen Cat themed iPod into a Kuromi themed iPod. I picked hot pink to match with Kuromi as black and pink are two colors associated with her in addition to purple.

Great video and interesting topic. I agree with you that it's not about the gear you use, it's about how you use it. But with that being said, I also recommend anyone interested in filmmaking or photography to take some money out of their smartphone budget and buy a "real" camera to learn the craft of swapping lenses, manually pulling focus on a physical focus ring, setting aperture, shutter speed etc. So instead of spending $1000 USD on a brand new iPhone, spend $500 USD on a used iPhone and buy a Panasonic G85 with a 25mm f/1.7 (for $500 USD total) and you'll have both a smartphone and a great real camera that'll teach you the art of cameras for the same price.

I realize that I don't want to be on my phone all the time and just enjoy life in the moment. There are times where I'll just turn off the phone for a few hours, go for a walk, or a drive. And it is really quite nice. I don't think I would turn my phone into a dumb phone cause I would probably be too dumb to find anything in that mode. But it is interesting that there are apps like this out there.

Broken screen or not, that thing is still going to last you a long time. I still have my Ipod classic from 2009 and it works fine. The only thing is that the battery isn't as strong as it used to be.
