Hoping for some help. What does registering Pokémon in Pokemon Stadium do? Am I still able to transfer them back to Pokemon Yellow? Does it create certain restrictions of how I use these Pokemon in Stadium?

I had this same, harshly bittersweet experience with Pokémon in 2004. All the pressure to outgrow it, feeling taken for granted by the devs in FR/LG with the lazy and/or prohibitive decisions, weighing my love for and dedication to this franchise against the isolation amongst my peers when needing said peers to get the most out of the experience, etc.

currently working on getting from gen 1 to gen 9 using enhancement rom hacks like Yellow & Crystal Legacy, Sinking Sapphire, and Renegade Platinum (a couple of them also have difficulty adjustments). In other news, can't believe I've been subscribed to you for literally over a decade!

I always appreciated how the Pokemon in the Stadium games had different hues. Along with their more animalistic cries, it added more realism to the creatures by making them all look distinct.

I can really relate to your experiences growing up. Difficult home life, learning disability... it's really tough being one of the kids who's 'different'. Also funnily enough, I gave my boyfriend a copy of Pokemon White 2 and drew custom box art for it, ha!

The thing that mostly aged poorly is the shift from CRT to LCD for TVs/monitors and how upscaling image resolution works in emulators. Games do not look like that on older hardware amd even official releases for 3ds and such didn't include a proper smearing shader to diffuse the pixels as it would be from a device back then =/

Glitches are great and fun as long as they aren't gamebreaking.

Yeah it's really cool, I use it to preview my nicknames a lot. Pineapple for Jolteon, Cyclone for Rapidash, Cookie for Snorlax, Scarab for Pinsir, Mana for Starmie, Coacoa for Exeggutor, Ballista for Electrode, Zephyr for Articuno, etc etc. Those are some of my best

Gen 2 i think is the best of both worlds. 85% of it looks like gen 1, but the pokemon sprites in battle are much better.

I started with Gen 4 and you know what I say? There's a truth that people don't want to admit: and thats that gen 1 is still one of the stronger games in the franchise, and that it truly is a really great game. Yes, its got issues but even with the story being mostly shoved aside, its still a very strong one, and the exploration as a whole is amazing. Plus Blue is one of the best rivals of the series and I'm sick of the friendly ones personally; they don't motivate me. N, Blue, and Silver, and to a lesser extent Brendan actually do. I'd give it an 8/10 overall and put it sixth place overall behind Gen 5, 4, 3, 6, and 2.

While I do think the new pokemon games aren't necessarily better than what came before it (read ‘mainline titles starting with X and Y') I do feel that Fire Red and Leaf Green fixed a lot of the glaring issues with gen 1. So I agree to the degree that the graphics are a non issue, But when it comes to gameplay the original remakes hit the sweet spot.

As a programmer (though not a video game programmer) I have a pretty good idea where Nan likely came from. In some programming languages if you divide by 0 and similar illegal operations you get a result called Nan usually written as NaN which is short for Not a Number.

In Gammefaqs there are guides for playing games in Japanese, they have everything from dialogs, menu texts, itens descriptions, etc

Yeah, GB Doduo and Dodrio are awesome, but when you play Stadium 2, you initially only unlock the Doduo function for RBY only. To also unlock it for GSC you need to beat round 2, AND having defeated the Elite 4 in your gen 2 game. Why even bother at that point, since you need to beat the entire game. Really poor game design decision, imo.

Well I want to play Duel Masters 3 for gba but unfortunately is not as popular as Pokémon. Yes there is Shadow of the Code but it looks horrible.

The chao garden is incredible. Hooking up the GBA link cable to get an invisible chao through jewel chao breeding was amazing.

Me and my friends when we were in middle school that was a thing we used to do, it started as a dare. We all had played through X and Y and a friend of mine temporarily trade it all his good level 100 Pokemon to another one of our friends and he restarted the game in Japanese and got his pokemon back. I was the second one take the plunge and I was the only one of us who did it with Omega Ruby. If you have played the game in English and beat it you likely know the menus inside and out so playing it in Japanese without knowing any Japanese is actually pretty easy. There's only one thing that happened to me that I still to this day kick myself for this, I was on the Japanese language setting on Y went to do something in the menu in my PC to my shiny level 100 Mewtwo but I forget what it was. All I remember was the option was towards the bottom and I hit the wrong one and it accidentally released Mewtwo. Yeah....🤦 If you run into something on a Japanese language play through and you absolutely don't know what it says and you can't remember what it says in English please attempt to look it up before making a guess especially if you're in the PC menus.

I bought my Pokemon Emerald in Japanese cause I was no way in hell paying $200 for a Pokemon game. *Proceeds to buy Pokemon Crystal at $125 (CIB)* CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS ADICTION TO ME!
