I found a Pokémon Go Plus + for $5 at a Surplus Store, and I can confidently say I would not recommend spending any more money than that for it. Even for Pokémon Go, which I regularly play, it's annoyingly loud and bright, and kind of hard to look at, not to mention it's catch rate is so abysmally low that instead of catching all the pokémon around me, 8 tends to just waste 20 pokeballs to catch three pokémon. Worth it for the story, definitely not worth the actual $80 price tag.

i have periods of hyper obsession with pokemon every now and again which usually results in me finding your channel again. this has happened on and off for the past decade in my own life, but even when im not having one of those episodes ive always found your content worthwhile to watch. the games for girls video - the one you mentioned making shortly after starting therapy - was one of my favorites for a while. it'd be great top see you try that more lindsay ellis style of content again, but i get why you might hesitate to do so, and all the pokemon videos are of course good fun too! also never knew you were a fellow Portlander. small world i guess. :b

19:27 you don’t need to have the phone unlocked and on, just have the app running in the background for the original pokemon go watch to work. I’ve been using it for years. Apple Watch used to have a companion pokemon go app but they took it down which sucks because it was the best

The most shocking part of this video was adjusting the price of inflation for the pokeball plus released in 2018. WOW. That really put inflation into perspective 😭

That was a pretty cool video, I remember back then when I was a kid that I never had a game boy or DS but I had a GameCube and played a LOT of Colosseum because I really liked Pokémon and it was basically the only way I could actually play it consistently. So yeah, I guess I really like the game till this day because of the experiences I had with it, but even back in the day there were moments when it felt boring and stale, and if I try to play it nowadays I’m pretty sure I won’t finish it. But I have to say that whatever merits this game has, such as great art direction and a very very different premise for its story could only happen if another dev team tried to make a Pokémon game, so although this game reeks of wasted potential I’m somewhat glad it exists because it shows that Pokémon can be so much more than the formulaic approach Game Freak usually goes for.

Don’t hesitate to check out *Ape Escape*. Holy sh*t, some of the games in that series are sooo good (but not all of them, like AE2)! Ape Escape 3 might be the better choice if being able to play as either sex is more your thing. Pumped & Primed is a surprisingly good party game spin-off entry, including its sequel Million Monkeys (which is sadly Japan-only). Can’t comment on the portable entries but the PSP remake of AE1 is supposedly pretty decent.

I had the GS Pikachu 2! It was really fun, and I remember fiddling with the contrast to make Pikachu all black (except for his eyes and cheek pouches). I lied to everyone at school that I caught a super ultra rare Shadow Pikachu in Silver and transferred it to the walker lol

I play pokemon sleep and I find it useful to help me go to bed on time.

I'm one of those Sleep players. It's hard to get into it, but once you're in, you're in xD I enjoy it more than GO and it's perhaps the most complicated game I've played.

Pokemon Company isn't publicly traded, so the shareholder line doesn't make much sense. Nintendo/Game Freak/Creatures don't really seem to be putting pressure on TPC for revenue like that or Niantic would be forced to have remote raids be cheaper and unlimited again. That was a crazy money maker for the IP and wouldn't have been allowed to change unless TPC was okay with Niantic having their vision for the game.

How am I just finding out that you started uploading again? I feel like it's almost been a decade since I've seen your videos around.

I have a large soft spot for the pokeball plus. I was getting blood infusions weekly several years ago and the pokeball plus let me play lets go with one hand. Which was great because one arm was always covered in tubes and wires and i couldnt bend it much during the infusions. Its one of the reasons lets go are some of my favorite games. They were very accessible in a time where i was very sick. And just like you said, having your pokemon cry out to you from the pokeball really is a magical experience!

Reasons for anyone to buy FR and LG: You want to play kanto games in not black and white, and with wild battles.
