basically one of the steering lines is fed around your mainline. The motion is a flip and spin. This essentially just makes the bar follow that steering line. = untangled .

Hello, good evening how can we help. Yes we did set up a 15 to show how beautiful it is. And the 9 is quite nice too. Same graphics. Looping has so many meanings out there. We miss the the 19XR it was amazing at doing looping transitions and nice long looping dark slides. Just recently we used a 5m to do double loops on a 165 Litewave board.
@FinnLiii4 күн бұрын
The problem with a 5 strut in this sizes in our German conditions is it just doesn’t work properly because those kites are way to heavy. I have a 15m xr and just don’t like it if the winds get lighter, i rather use a 3 strut. Sure it depends on where you live and the conditions if such a kite in these sizes works great. But for ultra light wind a foil kite is just the best.
@ewatersports2 күн бұрын
@@FinnLiii The XR8 is by far way better than the XR6 and even 7 when it comes to lite wind. Core has taking the route to increase life and duribilty over using the very lightest materials. That is for sure. But when it comes to 15 Kts on a 17XR8. Almost nothing is better. The loft and hangtime you get on 5 struts powered up is amazing. But sure 8-10Kts and barely able to clip the grass. a 3 strut will be better, Especially if its made from some of the newest material out there.
@FinnLiii2 күн бұрын
@@ewatersports okay now we are talking 15kts, sure this thing boots like hell, but tbh I get a lot of questions when I pump a 17 in 15-18 kts. Out here most people start to ride 12m at 15+ kts.
@ewatersports2 күн бұрын
@@FinnLiii thats when we get into regional wind strengths. Your 15kts may be our 20kts. Its all in the notion of how lit you want to be in order to complete whatever said trick. At my level, I need as much juice As I can hold down at all times. I use to love the 19 XR. I wish they still made it in the new XR8 materials.

Great tutorials, thanks. But I don't think you ever want to shift your front hand further back on the handle to generate more power. Different people may disagree, but my impression is that that is outdated advice.
@ewatersports9 күн бұрын
Thanks Clay, Every wing is different but the principal of a fulcrum point will always stay the same. Sliding your front hand back will certainly help remove the accidental depowering of the sail. No doubt on other wings on the market this fulcrum point could be closer to the leading edge. Give it a try sometime, find the center of balance on your wing by holding the wing powered and with one had only. You are right... wings have been improving and now have a larger sheet in, sheet out throw which will also change the wings balance point dependent on the amount of power the user would want. Keep shredding!

How does it compare to an XR Pro- trying to decide between them
@ewatersports16 күн бұрын
two completely different feels. Both will have the same loft feeling but all 5struts will have a more explosive pop. Any three strut will have a more freeride feeling with carving and down winding. Any 5strut will feel more close to edge of the window. The vortex could be the choice for looping. Where the Pro would be the choice for breaking altitude record.
I am right here as a kiter these videos are really simple to understand can’t say enough about them

Yes we would prefer to eject in relatively "strong winds". But if we had a choice on high or low V, well id take a high v any-day for a forced self land. But we are tempted to prove a point by going out in 30kts during our next videos.
@AndreySemjonov28 күн бұрын
@@ewatersports in my opinion no meter you have low or high V it is problem to land without help in strong gusty wind. Best option out there it is attach leash to something and leave kite there and than grab kite by yourself.

@AndreySemjonov24 күн бұрын
@@gastonbarouille767 yes to anything. Tree, bench, pole etc.I remember once I wanted to land a kite in very strong wind, because it's picked up very strong and I was together with kite buddy. And we couldn't help each other, because you can't stand on feet even. So landed kite by attaching safety leash around bench on beach, than attaching it to chickenloop and than could walk and grab a kite. So in this case this was best solution :) last one, of course, release safety.

I have to self land all the time. Met with a group at a lake once and everyone helped launch and land their kites.. so nobody knew how to self land or launch! I reverse launched and flipped my 14m cabrinha and everyone was in disbelief because id only been kitesurfing one season. I was in disbelief they didn't know how!! Everyone talks about going to kite schools and being "safe" but i taught myself everything with youtube videos and now im much safer than they are! I learned how not to put myself in bad situations on the water and how to get out of one. Kite schools can only get you so far and all the "keeping you safe" makes you more vulnerable. I think its an absolute must to know how to launch and land yourself, it makes water relaunch a sinch.

Just like paragliding, eventually you come down. But in this situation we are using 9m kites when paragliders are 19-30m.

Once you walk up the center lines, don't release them or you gonna get launched badly. So prereq before you do this is unhook - absolute priority if you ask me.

Thanks for adding that. We would certainly want to be ready to eject if things go rouge. We don't ever even want anyone to self land or launch.

@raghuram281529 күн бұрын
This is such a myth-buster. I'd always dreamt of owning an XR, but the only reason I didn't was because i was told High-V is very hard to self land. Here in the inland lakes of Upper Midwest (with tress all around the lake and rarely a nice beach), almost everyone always drift launches the kite and self lands it. Would you say Drift Launching is any tough with High-V? Or even that is a myth (or misunderstanding) I had?
@deeearnshaw955129 күн бұрын
Hi there, Also from mid west with sketchy drift launch locations. Most of my kites are XRs with high V and I don’t notice any difference, when drift launching- the main thing is good line discipline to ensure they are extended fully without any tangles of debris.
@ewatersports29 күн бұрын
It’s easy to latch onto the unknown. And even easier to make rumors for brands someone may not own or sell. Self launch or land is easier and safer.
@kitingholger982628 күн бұрын
I am flying Core Kites on my Kite career since eight years. Never thought on things being like that being a problem.. It drifts launch works as well - of course you need to take care of that line don’t get a tangled on any objects under the water. In any case, Self launching and landing (landing using quick release) on the water is clearly in most cases safer than on the beach. OK you will have a wet kite - but better than damaging the Kite or a damaged Kiter…
@kitingholger982629 күн бұрын
Hey, this is really helpful. Is this part of the best practice technique at the point holding the V connection in your hand to walk a bit more in the windwindow to pull at both center lines or pull just to top center line to let the kite fall down on the fronttube? I have some mixed experiences with that technique: at 12 to 14 knots a large kite like a 17 or 13.5 the Kite will likely fall down on the front tube and flag out. Today, I tried it at 19 kn with my 10 m and the kite re-launched when I held it on the top the centerline and flipped around - nothing dangerous happened. It was flying without pressure but relaunch is definitely something to keep in mind, and in respect to staying away from any sharp objects like grass or wood on the beach (I saw in another video to walk up the lines and pull the top of centerline to pull the Kite down on the front tube). How was your experience at a little bit more wind like about 20 kn and 9 or 10m kite?
@ewatersports29 күн бұрын
The experience is the same, but in the end. Its almost near impossible to self land effectively and safely in higher breezes. But if we have the choice. We would want to us a High V, Or you can just eject your kite and it would work the same.
