In 1957 when I was thirteen, I rode this wonderful train from Chicago to Seattle. A great experience and a privilege for me.

A very nice review as always. I particularly like the shot a 14:08. It gives an interesting tilt shift effect and makes these rather large models feel smaller than they are.

Very beautiful models. These locomotives are great to run, though I swapped out the electronics in mine to blunami and had to do other modifications to mine. We can only hope that the second run doesn’t take as long, hopefully a year so the wallets can be ready.

Very good look over with these locomotives, Greg. I didn’t get to preorder these before COVID, but I think I will jump on the current second run with a pair of the Conrail Quality ones. And I would absolutely be all in for a couple of the Susie-Q versions later on.

3rd rail is simply the best and worth every penny--the fixed pilots on their diesels are the best---everything else looks bad

Observation car was a full parlor car as well. Only one door at the front--none in back and no vestibule. 2nd to last car in the Daylight consist was also a parlor car, but had a few staterooms if you really had the money.

And, those are full length diaphragms, the cloth looks absurd. Also, the blocks that hold the magnets may be more offensive than the magnets. I'm going to cut the blocks and magnets out on mine and repaint.

3rd Rail needs to totally scrap that absurd cloth diaphragm thingy. Looks ridiculous and they also need to get rid of those 3 metal magnets that ruin the car ends. They do that and its a perfect train.

Nice review and run session. I have units from both runs as well. They really are a nice product. Had an issue with one of my turnouts and had to swap out the wheels with traction tires.

One thing I love about third rail is their fix pilots. Sadly I had to miss out on these.
