Pretty sure this trend has been a thing for a long while. “Muppet Babies” & “Flintstone’s Kids” being pretty old examples of this. Not sure why you used Snoopy here, as the last movie where he was shown as a baby is pretty old at this point. I feel like the first Sonic movie with Jim Carey & Groot from “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” would have made better examples. But still, baby Garfield definitely looks like a marketing team’s cheap idea to sell as much merchandise & tickets as possible. Along with that “long lost dad” plot & not having John have too much interactions with Garfield.

I kind of take this move as a movie representation of what it felt like to those of us who grew up with Anxiety without us or anyone close to us not knowing that we have it. I think even seeing Riley’s dad have it does show how genetics play in having certain levels of anxiety. Anxiety is different from Fear, and I think this movie is going to show how important this emotion is as well as how dangerous it can be when left unchecked or forced ignored. Similar to what happened to Sadness and Anger (when unintentionally left in charge).

I think it was titled Defying Gravity, like the Wicked The Musical song. Crazy stuff. Edit: Just looked it up and it still exists. It's titled King of the Koopas: Because I Knew You.

I think Riley has a hidden anxiety disorder from her dad since anxiety shows up in her dads head but not her mothers. Which means this is an above normal level of anxiety.
