The problem with this slinky model is that once you turn off the engine, you just snap right back to where you were a second ago. You still must travel THROUGH space to get to where youre going. Rendering FTL speeds impossible.

Also, I performed double Lens experiment with Ample Sunlight and Two Lenses as apparatus to THRILL MY Friends in 1987 AD. Let me try recollecting what all did. It is fun to share. Also, it reminds that two experimenting humans can discover the same mystery of nature's phenomenon independently in two geographical location and at different timelines. It is all about who documented it first and made widely publicly available.

Also, some what related experiment that I performed, where I took front part of the ball point pen, then filled it with easily available matchstick powder tightly. Then I made the ball point pen front part filled with matchstick powder to fix to the geometry box divider sharp end. Now I lighted the point where divider and ball point pen front part filled with matchstick powder met. As expected, the ball point pen front part ejected in trajectory. My 3 Friends were THRILLED. However, I instructed them not reveal it to anyone as all 4 will be in trouble at our respective Houses. It was 1988 AD. I was 11. Because the divider weight was too much compared to ball point pen front part, there was no recoil. The principle which is used in Artillery. All phenomenon can be explained using Newtons 3rd law scientifically but Newtons laws are not essential for the observed phenomenon to occur.

The best thing is to interpret light as collection of photons. Duality principle of particle comes to rescue in further study. The photons vibration around its mean position is proportional to its energy level. Regarding the pattern observed over long period of observation time, where photon particles are hitting photographic film, it is expected to generate the pattern observed.
