I honestly would want to live in the Charlotte city area, it is affordable, not significantly far from where I live, and I’m a southerner so I know my way around more than the New Yorkers 😂.

I lived outside of Marion North Carolina up towards Spruce Pine and I absolutely loved it. Fishing was great I worked for myself doing remodeling and new construction. It took me about a year to get established but after that I stayed busy until I had to move back to Arkansas due to family illnesses. My dad was diagnosed with cancer and my mother in law was extremely sick and died 3 months after we got back. Other than that the only thing I couldn't stand about North Carolina was State Troopers set road blocks up just about everyday somewhere or another. And if you don't have a house with all electric on the west side of North Carolina it was mostly kerosene heat oil and you would have to have it delivered out to your house and let them fill it up. As far as guns hell here in Arkansas everyone has a few and that's a good thing. If someone breaks in my house if they make it in the door there deceased immediately.

I've lived in NC since 2002 as well. I'm originally from SF Bay Area in California. I hated it when I 1st moved here. I was in military in Goldsboro. Relocated to Raleigh area in 2006, I've seen all the massive growth. There's many things I love about the state and things I don't and that's with anywhere you live. No place is perfect but you do what's best for you. One complaint I do have is the higher cost of living due to everyone moving here and the constant tailgating on the road even when you are going 15 mph over the speed limit and I'm not even talking about driving in the fast lane. People here mainly Raleigh/Durham tend to drive like maniacs or just plain way too slow, no in between.

What are the demographics for these areas?

I like it so far. My two reasons were one, I like rural. And two I can’t stand cold. And I really can’t stand to hot like the deep south. This is a good middle ground. And fortunately I get to leave in July and August when the humidity is highest.

I moved her 5 years ago. Charlotte drivers are the worst drivers I’ve ever seen. Traffic is crazy. The roads are nonsensical and super narrow. Driving here is stupid. The second reason I’m moving from NC is because of the crazy oppressive humidity. Between these two factors I went from an outdoor person to just staying in my house. I don’t like what I’ve become here in NC. Otherwise, NC is great.

Aww I'm from NY too and recently moved to NC last month. I'm loving the cost of living. As a 26 year old I no longer have to work 7 days a week just to survive and live comfortably.
