Guns with strong attack and defense? Yes they are excellent in battle once you get them. The ones who held the line and broke through the center for many of my battles. 😊

I don't actually use this trick because it makes the economy such a breeze 😂 I prefer to use assassins to *ahem* remove incoming merchants and secure resources in a more dynamic way that also raises an agent's skill. I prefer to just upgrade buildings and negotiate trade deals. Maybe if I was just getting really ground down and running out of troops, then I'd sell out, but I've rarely been that badly off.

I never bothered with the gunpowder units cuz 1 it takes too long to get to that age and i would have taken over france and england by then and working on HRE, Papals, Venice, and Bryz by then and the city with that building is in my capital which would be whatever moors is

From what I understand, what happened at 41:53 seems to be the AI using the single click attack, which allows the unit to get into formation first and launch a full charge once in range rather than rushing the charge like when double clicking. I do that a lot nowadays once I noticed that charging works a bit differently in Medieval II. A great episode nonetheless, cheers from the UAE.

I like chivalry more than dread to be honest. It takes much more work, but is much more rewarding in the end. Sure I can get an evil ruler conquer the known world. But why not take the hard route of NEVER STARTING A WAR, and letting the enemy attack you? It is their fault if they start it, and you conquer them instead after all.

It makes sense that the barbarians cant build certain things. Historically their conquering of Western Europe brought about the dark ages. They weren't focused on building cities, they were focused on raiding and burning. Also i think the main thrill on BI is defending the crumbling empire.

I love artillery in the Americas; their accuracy is so insane (except for bombard and grand bombard), which makes them incredibly powerful, especially when you use them to flank the Aztecs and other Natives while they are besieging your settlement.

They’re effective bc of their massive morale damage not so much their actual combat effectiveness

The only gunpowder units I have enjoyed are the mounted ones (love my thunder braves). Just never really found the ground guns (muskets, handcannons, Arqs, etc) to really be worth the hassle.
