I only need 86 more comics to complete a run of Amazing Spider-Man, and these have been the worst ever! ASM has been horrible since 800. Nick Spencer turned Spidey into the Tick, and it did take for ever to find out who Paul was and the pay off sucked, along with JR JR's art which has now detail and looks like it took 5 seconds to draw! Ms. Marvel is the dumbest character of all time, and I was happy she died, then they brought her back one month later. I only buy this garbage for the sake of having the 1st 1,000 books. The first 50 are classic, the 100's with Gwen Stacy are the best. When Venom appeared it was awesome. Superior Spider-Man is awesome. Right now is worse than the clone saga. I want the writers and artists to change so bad.

Good thoughts! Ultron was in Savage Avengers and briefly in Avengers Inc. Interested in West Coast Avengers, I will check it out. Like the two female characters, always liked SpiderWoman.

I haven’t been reading ASM since Dark Web, but this pitch actually sounds really cool to me. Will definitely be checking this out. Not really interested in the others, but I’m also just much more interested in the stuff being announced from DC right now and can’t afford to get everything.

I found nemesis to be my most worthy #1 this week. Fantastic art and i love when the villain gets a story where they can be their evil brutal selves. NYX i was somewhat conflicted on but i reached the same conclusion as you did comic corner. It is worthy but it is a little wonky and definitely for a younger audience. Also not sure if i'm the only one but the story seemed a little political to me. Hello darkness and EC i found completely unworthy despite being very excited to read them. The art was really lacking, especially in EC. Both books had 1 or 2 alright stories but for a #1 i was expecting home-runs with every story if they expected me to want to buy another issue.

I loved the original "West Coast Avengers" book. Silver Centurion armor has always been one of my favorites for Iron Man. I don't think Duggan gets Tony Stark, so don't have high hopes for this book. It will probably be readable, but I don't expect a great book. I don't like Ultron as a member of the team - that has to be an obvious setup for a "betrayal" at some point. I do like the inclusion of Firestar and have always liked the character (since I first saw her in the Spidey cartoon back in the day). Have always liked Jessica Drew as well, so like having Spider-woman in the team. Rhodey and Tony are always going to be a good team (classic bromance there). I may check out the first issue or two, but really not expecting much, unfortunately. I'd love to be wrong on that, though. Not sure about that "ASM" story, but will wait and see how it turns out.

I wonder if zeb wells last book will he be biter about ending early or will he 110% it.

Both of these might be fun, I read West Coast Avengers back in the 80's and I remember enjoying it (loved that cover with the Human Torch on it!) and it's been a long time since Amazing Spider-Man was a good read!

Had to read a couple of them over a few times before it made sense to me. Cannot wait for #2 in September. Do you think you’ll be picking up the Defenders of Earth run since this was so good?

NYX is cool because of Ms Marvel, but the best team she could lead would include Escapade, Moon Girl, Snowflake, and Safe Space. A romance between Spider-Punk and Escapade is what I want to see.

NYX was ok. I’m not a Ms Marvel fan at all and almost didn’t pick it up because of her. The only thing going for it was the end. I’m more interested in the bad guys at this point and want to see how that whole dynamic develops. Hopefully they won’t bog the series down with angst and social issues.

Feel bad NYX wasn't good. However, Deadpool Wolverine was fantastic, go see it on the big screen. Will lose a lot streamed on a small screen.

Something is Killing the Children was my favorite story in Hello Darkness, which is sad, right? I'm the opposite of you in regards to horror anthologies. I actually really like them. But Hello Darkness and Epitaphs of the Abyss were both lacking in my opinion. I think I preferred Epitaphs of the two, though.

Nice House by the Sea has a quick insight at the end (interview): the right idea but mostly not the proper approach with the previously nice house on the lake, which as you said, it is being addressed currently. I actually did like the fast pace to introduce the characters, to jump right away to the plot (which gives me a "Lost" series vibe). By the way, at the end of the issue there is also a page showing the 10 characters, which works as a cheat list, and is cool to have that. I almost forgot: each issue has one of the icons under the cover title highlighted, as a spotlight of such character inside such issue (also a cool detail). which makes me think that the series will have 10 issues.

I absolutely LOVED Flash Gordon. Like you, most of my experience has been with the 1990s movie. I did read a bit of the Flash Gordon comics when it was at Dynamite, but not a lot. I loved the FCBD issue, and this issue just continued that. The story was intense and the art was absolutely beautiful. An A+ for me. I have not read the others, but have TMNT, NYX, and The Addiction. I just jumped ahead when you described what happened. LOL

I liked the first series, House by the Lake. And i liked issue one of By the Sea. But yes....my major complaint is too many characters.
