Thank you for the video! I'm a massage therapist who focuses on helping people correct their breathing first. Your 4 goals are an excellent educational guideline that I can give my clients who can't breath well due to dysfunctional tongues. You are clear and concise and so knowledgeable.

I’ll forever be upset about none of this being explained to my parents when I was a child. It wasn’t until I went to Dental Assisting school that I really saw everything that have been causing all these problems in my mouth. A deep bite, a tongue tie, narrow palette. Almost 3 decades of the same dentist being in my mouth, and he never thought to say anything about this. Now I have to deal with it as an adult.

This is what I have! I'm over 30 and only learned about tongue- and lip-ties this month, but have dealt with sinus issues, facial pain and tension and dental crowding my entire life. My parents have said I also fed well as a baby but suffered constant colic and stomach issues. Can see how it's so easy to miss, and will hopefully be getting it corrected in the next few weeks :) Can't wait!

I have a mid-restricted tie, apparently. 20 years of jaw issues which I’ve sort of resolved over the years except masseter tension. Is just so bad some days. On my path to find relief over the decades I only just now found someone who tells me I have this 😅 I’m in aligners now to “widen” my smile and add tilt, within my wide-enough palate (expanded as a child). My teeth align and all that but we need a bit of width to allow for a released tongue. I’m not entirely confident I’ll be relieved of tension after my release… I feel like my body has just compensated SO much all these years! I sure hope a release is in fact what I “need” to kick this tension though!

Hi, I have just undergone septoplasty two days ago, in an attempt to relieve my snoring, daytime sleepiness and susceptibility to infections. I also had DISE test , still pending results. I suspect I need myofunctional therapy. Please, keep providing help and guidance. Two days after surgery my nose is still too stuffy... but I shall prevail !!!

I'd love am update. I've been told I need septoplasty, but if all of these issues aren't addressed does it help or is it needed?

Thank you for creating this type of content! The importance of the tongue (especially the back of the tongue) is not well known. It took me +30 years to find it out, and some of these years living with "unexplained" pain, migraines.

Also mouth and tongue ulcers. There is so many problems, you can't methylate folic acid (syntetic form of folate b9) Eating liver has the highest amounts of folate that is bioavailable. Also if you have these gene mutation if you eat anything with enriched it means it is sprayed with synthetic folic acid and it will make you sick because your body can't break down folic acid. In the US all enriched grains are sprayed with folic acid and it is estimated that about 40% of the US population has this mutation.

In 1976 I got a palate spreader I turned w/ a key. The Ortho was known for causing excess pain, but the spreader never hurt. My wisdom teeth were removed before they came in; no room. Luckily, my ortho was fresh out of school. An earlier dentist wanted to pull 4 teeth, my folks declined. Yikes. Don't be afraid to get a 2nd opinion.

I have a narrow arch and my smile is narrow. I want a broader smile so more teeth show. Should I look into ortho treatment like an expander?

Do you have any ideas to teach a kid to breathe through their nose at night? About a year ago, I taught my 9yo to breathe through his nose during the day but the habit didn’t carry over to night time. Any advice?

Is the tongue tie release procedure the same for a posterior and interior? Or is the tongue cut in a different place for a posterior tongue release?
@bridgetbean79
@bridgetbean79 Ай бұрын
Not an expert but I think it’s cut or lasered in same place. It’s just a matter of where that tie is.. like obviously under the tongue but how fact back is dictated by if it’s anterior or posterior etc. so technically same location, under tongue on the tie, but where that tie connects is the variable.

I think NO is generated in every epithelial cell in the body, i.e. blood vessels, not just those in the nose. That said, nose breathing is still preferred because NO generated in the nose helps with oxygen absorption in the lungs and even destroys pathogens in the air. I tape my mouth while sleeping in order to get the benefits of nasal breathing all night long.

I have to look again into getting this done and you're right, the first time after my operation, I don't think I was ever given exercises and this was when I was really young (I think I was 5 and that would have been in 1992). The reason why I'm asking is because it's reattached.
