Could you just do recap of the seasons. That's what people wanna hear to catch on on the current season

I liked it, it subverted a lot of expectations. Clearly evil officer wasn't actually evil, but dedicated to his work (vice captain). Spoiled Rich Girl wasn't just talented due to money buying the best equipment but is legitimately talented and justifies her arrogance, but also shows humility. I don't know why they gave (in English Dub) the sidekick character the voice actor that mostly does villain roles which then made me expect him to be a turn at some stage of the first season. I like the strong emphasis of loyalty and team work even after Kafka gets revealed. THOUGH, watched a video on the Manga and that's disappointing. After like two arcs they run out of ideas and rinse repeat the formula ad nauseam.

The arc as a whole was trash E1 and E8 were 7/10 arc on the whole is a 4/10

I'm glad you mentioned the description being the most generic shit ever, because I feel like Ishura really does suffer from horrendous marketing. It's presented like an Isekai or a Battle Royal but it's honestly very different from typical anime. The big tournament is basically just a backdrop for a lot of politics and maneuvering; it doesn't happen until volume 3 (and these are fatass volumes that each can support an anime season) and there's not many matches per volume even when it does start, because the lives of these characters, the political factions, and all the interweaving motives and objectives are all way more important than just a bunch of 1v1s. The description also kind of hides just how distinct the setting is, with its more middle-eastern aesthetics and magic system, and the sheer quantity of non-human characters. The novel itself is also very distinct from what you expect in a light novel. The narrative voice and translations reads EXCEPTIONALLY well, more like a traditional fantasy novel than the often grating "isn't this how stories are written" style, the fights are easy to follow and quite epic, and the narrative knows to treat pureness of heart or strength of character as just as incredible as unbeatable fighting skills (and without pretending that purity of heart makes one a better fighter either). I also just want to mention that this is the first anime/novel where I felt the Demon King was appropriately handled. The True Demon King was so awful that people don't want to even speak of it, can't even remember who or what it was, were driven mad simply by its presence. It was so oppressive its menace still lingers in the minds of all living beings. It's the driving force of the setting, practically a force of nature or a metaphor more than a person. It's tied up tightly with the overarching themes of the story as well: fear, despair, and having no choice but to pray someone ELSE saves you.

A common sentiment I saw was that people were put off by most of the episodes being spent introducing characters. Which I totally get and I probably would have been annoyed if the season ended without a second season announcement. But overall I quite liked season one and I'm excited to see what fights we get in season two.

I always felt like Japanese isekai is pretty recycled by those authors with Korean at least the authors are actually interesting

Damn bro you know if someone did a manga recap on season 1 of the anime or nah? to lazy to read the manga rn but the season 1 animation is so abhorrent that I can’t watch it either.

Wano had some great moments, but overall was very mid. It dragged on for too long and it didn't feel like there were any meaningful stakes. Yamato, I didn't care for, nor saw the point of her character even existing. Kaido and Big Mom were defeated too easily and their "deaths" felt rushed, same with the other fights of the Strawhats perhaps except for Zoro's, which was alright. Honestly, I don't remember much from the Arc because it didn't manage to get me invested in its events on an emotional level, although this criticism could be launched against pretty much every post-timeskip Arc with the exception of Egghead, which is genuinely great so far.

God help us if the manga gets an English adaptation. It could disrupt MHA and one piece’s manga sales. Maybe down the road, Kingdom S1 will get a remaster like berserk did for the golden age arc.

I'd rather wait for a season to be released all at once then weekly or a split season! That's the best thing about Netflix! An If there's no recap It gives me a reason to re-watch the prior season before it also. And sometimes all the prior seasons! Lol Weekly episodes are torture and split to be continued Seasons are the worst. The only way to watch a well written well drawn Anime series or any series is too Bing watch it!
