The Boy and the Heron Review

The Boy and the Heron, known as "君たちはどう生きるか" (Kimitachi wa Dō Ikiru ka, lit. 'How Do You Live?') in Japanese, is a 2023 animated fantasy film from Studio Ghibli, written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Although the Japanese title refers to Genzaburō Yoshino's 1937 novel of the same name, which is featured in the film, the story itself is an original creation unrelated to the novel.
The film stars Soma Santoki, Masaki Suda, Ko Shibasaki, Aimyon, Yoshino Kimura, Takuya Kimura, Karou Kobayashi, and Shinobu Otake. Described as a "big fantastical film," it follows the journey of Mahito Maki (Santoki), a young boy who stumbles upon an abandoned tower in his new town, leading him into a magical realm accompanied by a talking grey heron. #Anime #TheBoyandTheHeron #Review
