One of the Best Documentaries of All Time. Ask yourself why so many people jump off the Golden Gate Bridge, then look at the Socio-Economics and Politics of San Francisco and the Bay Area and put 2+2 together. They always advertise San Francisco as a Utopia, but when you visit it never lives up to it's Reputation. What it once was it can never be and how people are so unaware of themselves. Also, advertised as a Utopia and Paradise for Artists, Hippies, Bohemias and the LGBTQ Community, the Reality is anything but. Thank you for this Documentary, and ask yourself why in 2020's America are so many people in Suicidal Ideation. Please watch this Documentary and have a Discussion about everything in it.

If the documentary helps friends or parents to recognise depression and despair or helps mental health sufferers to reach out for help it has served a valuable purpose

It is the very people who find this documentary offensive or unwatchable who are not able to hear the cries for help before something like this happens. I'm not criticising. But if you're someone who wants a movie like this to be censored or removed, then you're just ignoring the problem.

Anybody surprised at how different his speaking voice is to his singing voice? Sort of lower and somewhat more gravelly compared to his singing voice… Also, is it me or does he constantly look stoned?

I remember when just another diamond day was released and i found that I liked it as it was so different from what was on the market at the time i love her soft singing voice its so relaxing and puts me in a different world where everything is at peace.

"Half Nelson" is such an analytic, character driven, critical, daring, great, honest, human, humble, precise, realistic, succinct, touching, well observed film, that it is really incredible that something like it was getting made in our time. I just wish that Hollywood were still or again making movies like this one. It shows you don't need a mega-budget to make a fantastic film.
