Thank you for this. It's 2021 and I'm now reading City of Disappearances, and being stunned by so much of it.

A psychedelic route into Hackney. The intensity of Sinclair's writing leeches into everyday observation, and makes those streets, any streets, fiery with hidden stories, full of both condemnation and eulogy.

Old architecture, especially London architecture, is so beautiful. Nothing to do with antiquated views but a feeling for aesthetics. Furthermore, a feeling for history doesn't automatically equal antiquated, Londons old architecture is really special, so perhaps you should open up a little and see the great beauty there.....

true. London has such beautiful architecture, old architecture, it is a shame if that will be wiped out. If you look at some videos of London a few decades ago, wonderful architecture being torn down.

Alan Moore considers Iain to be one of the finest writers writing today. London: city of disappearances is absolutely brilliant! Check it out.

"One thing I know is that anybody that has to endlessly bark at people and remind them how intelligent and talented they are must be the exact opposite" You started with him. So are you describing yourself ?

What a shame that Muskadash and The bbbride took this over and polluted it with their respective rants. This is a fine book; I contributed to it and I live all alone, unemployed, in a towerblock.

Absolutely. She sounds very narcissistic.... and perhaps no real idea about art and design Perhaps like many of those who jump on the bandwagon these days and just because they have "some" connection to art (like pouring wine at art openings or somesuch) think they are automatically artists/designers/architects Really, a lot of them have no feeling or idea about those things, and fuck up cities beautiful structures..... Like when lots of Victorian houses were torn down for ugly blocks....

"Everything that comes out of your mouth says desperate, bitter and lonely." He doesn't sound like that at all. You just sound so up your arse and immediately attacked him for nothing, or rather for him having (a rather good) opinion. The rest of your writing is also rather obnoxious, full of conjecture and..... dull I'm sure you are not one of the avantgarde *laughs*
