Hey! I got stuck in a similar loop but in a different way... I would try to start a big project in blender, then realized it was hard, and never completed it. My first project was super large scale, and it took 2 months 😅, but I learned so much while experimenting and staying consistent even if something didn't go my way. Keep up the good work :)
@GreenLightDev4 күн бұрын
Thank you! 🙏 I think we've all done that, starting big projects then eventually abandoning them. That's super relatable haha but it's awesome that you learned a lot through experimenting. That can really make those 2 months worth it 🙌
@Vensauno3 күн бұрын
Good job on learning whatever you learnt. I can understand the strain on starting something big without realising that it couldn't be done without learning the small things. In a span of three years, i abandoned almost 10 projects. If you start any big projects, just taking time is the way to go !

@porodev9 күн бұрын
Also, how you did that at 5:58? Like cropping the godot Editor Syntax?
@GreenLightDev9 күн бұрын
Thank you!! I appreciate that 🙏 I use After Effects for the animations, including all the Godot editor syntax. I copy/paste the code from Godot into After Effects and manually match the font and colors to Godot's default settings. That gives me the freedom to change the background, size, and add any animations 👍

hey, game dev here. i would recomend using _physics_process instead of _process for your use case. Physics process is consistent but process is based on framerate. using process could cause some weird things to occur when the framerate drops

Lol we all went through this at some point, i lost a whole game once because i had the bright idea of working on it locally "JuSt Bc Im AlOnE". I hope you are already using version control or will use it from now own (github, gitlab...) that way you'll keep track of your different versions and not loose the game like me when the pc or the disk dies 😢

Nice work mate! Now i'm sure you're familiar and will handle code with ease and you get how most godot 2D nodes work! I suggest you keep on pushing this game and start diving into the aestethic part of gamedev by using some animations, camera shake, lighting, worldenvironment to start having a style in "game juicing". Can't wait to the progress and how juiced your game could get over time 😮 Keep up the good work 😄
@GreenLightDevАй бұрын
Thanks man!! You're right, there's still a lot I can do to add some juice. This is something that I think would be cool to come back to at some point polish it up, especially because adding things that you mentioned like lighting and animations would really go a long way 🙌
