Hey! Just curious, I've gotten pretty into Blender, and fur has always alluded me. You mentioned this is Blender Octane. Is that different than blender and if so does this method work for Blender Cycles?

different render engine, for cycles you want the principled hair node

The camera visibility attribute is the one you should use in most situations.

yeah for sure, the only reason I can see the opacity being useful is perhaps you want to flicker a light or something

I just wish Octane would improve the Toon Outline feature, which is not very effective depending on the mesh.
