I am using the Assist Button with iPhone 14 Pro Max and iOS Shortcuts, but when I run the shortcut and ask for something it completes the run but nothing is happening. PS I don't have any speech to text set up on my Home Assistant. Is that the problem? My understanding is that iOS Shortcuts translate the speech to text and then is passing the text to the home assistant...?

I love the setup, I've bought a Atom Echo and also made a setup like this, but my problem with it is the speech recognition. It's TERRIBLE at recognising what I'm saying, and doesn't hear half the words I say, and gets the others wrong, it works perfectly fine on my phone but not on the ESP32 I suspect it's the microphone & hardware that's bad, and that's why it sucks. I'm not sure what to do to remedy this, the ESP32-S3 doesn't seem much better as it had the same issue in your demo

The fiance always kills the HASS app on her phone, so tracking her as home/away is a pain for automations. This will help with automations for her being home and me not and vice versa. Thank you!

I have a couple of Picture Elements cards that I use State Badges and State Icons. These had to be set up via YAML, but I recognized the badges from your walk-through and when I went in to edit the cards, they are no longer YAML only. We still have to edit the positions in YAML, but we can now add elements from the UI!

I have in use more than 20 heavily YAML customized Badges and this HA update broked all of them. This is deffently downgrade for me and I'm sad to see those go. 😢 I restored the old HA version.

It's a shame that Nabu Casa doesn't have the business acumen to realize they need a rock solid voice assistant WITH off the shelf hardware to match rivaling Google/Amazon. 2023's year of the voice was a complete bust as we are nearing the end of 2024 and they still have very little to show for it publicly at least. All (yes, to date I have seen them all) the DIY solutions are still trash for the most part as this video shows. I get much better and faster results from cheap, old, low end Google speakers based in the cloud unfortunately. As a program/project manager and business owner, it is obvious that Nabu Casa is seriously lacking in focus and direction business wise. It's no wonder they are nearly 7 years old (not to mention HA has been around much longer) and have less than 50 employees. That is abysmal growth for a for-profit tech company now days. Google/Amazon assistants = 2024, Apple = 2021, HA assistant = 2016. Don't misunderstand, I want nothing more than a local voice assistant in HA and to ditch Google and the cloud once and for all.

I find the llm vision integration more helpful. it can analyze pictures from my camera and tell me when the mail truck has arrived. I plan to have it check my 3d printer to ensure the previous print has been removed. you should check out the integration.
