I've said my 23 footer round the break water at Douglas in a easterly, my cross trees nearly touched the sea with the role phew.!

There will be a load throwing up on that journey......!!

I took a very rough journey when I was 11 in the late '50's on an earlier version of Ben My Chree. It was horrendous.

Our motorbike club ferried from Dover to Calais in a force 7...boy - did I feel rough! Watching your video brings those feelings back. Otherwise, very well shot, thank you. The lorries on the front of the ferry were ACTUALLY BOUNCING, No lie.

Brings it all back! Before we emigrated in 2005, we used to go and watch the "Ben boat" go in and out. Back then we used ti go right along to the end if the spit. Used her twice to via IOM. Fond memories. ❤

Superb Video!! So, they're still flying the 757 in 2021. Last year now, I think. I have just booked a trip to Skiathos, and we're scheduled for a 757-200 on the outbound flight from Gatwick. The aircraft based there right now is also G-OOBN. Thinking this was row 6 as you didn't have a mis-aligned window, like row 7 gives. You had a prime view, either way. I've flown to Skiathos 7 times - never managed it on a 757.....YET! Once again, a great video.

The Ben ma crea was wallowing in the sea coming into Douglas harbour but with a good skipper and crew aboard docked safely that day from belfast northern ireland

I love how the SSJ100 looks, I really do. I'm glad we have another country trying to compete, considering the airplane market is heavily dominated by the US, France, and Brazil. Props to Sukhoi, but they gotta work on airplane safety lol.

When they take the stabilisers in before reaching the breakwater 😫.... dread it in weather like this.

You have to ask yourself should a competent captain even be sailing in these conditions. Yes the ship can handle the conditions but you are primarily a car/truck and passenger ferry and risking those and the damage such action can do to the car deck. It’s not like Gale force winds are unexpected in the 21st century. delaying departure should always be the first choice.

I was able to recreate this landing on flight sim, touched down right at the aimpoint, vertical speed of -436 fpm, less than 5 feet off centerline
