My 3 year old daughter loves this song. Brings a tear to my eye when she sings “old Buckley’s hope”. Now I get to learn it and play for her.

Odd accent and rather poor diction. Seems like a put-on. Not sure what to make of this fellow.

I thought I was gonna find an old black guy on some vintage records but no. Why are White people the best at almost everything? or is it just me imagining things

I come here thinking I may be able to play this on my guitar...... I was mistaken.... I am not sure why CW isn't better known, I have the feeling one day he will get the adulation he deserves.

CW where I grew up is pronounced "See Dub" kinda like Jay Dub if you are mostly literate. I like CW Stoneking and his steel guitar. Zombie.

Excellent vibe, I just heard "Tomorrow Gon' be too Late" and it peaked my interest, took a look at the cover art and I'm like "who tf is this guy?". Love the vintage recording fidelity, I was surprised to find out that it's modern. Then after a few seconds into this video I'm like "Wow that artwork looks a lot like Patrick McHale!". So bad ass!

Just in case you're taking requests for more tenor banjo lessons, could you show us your (excellent) version of 7 Nation Army? The one you play here, for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJ_GaKyCmq2qjsk

Just picked up a tenor banjo... I've been hesitating for years. Only to discover there's not a whole lot of instruction out there. Most of the books are a 100 years old. And most other instruction is focused on Dixieland. But THIS is the real music. Hope you'll do more tenor banjo stuff. As an added bonus, this video motivated me to pick up an LP of King Hokum. Now I have all three (+a couple on CD too!) Hoping you'll come back to France, I missed your show by a couple of days last time. Still kicking myself.

Are you ready? (yeah!) I got a brand new dance here for you, This one, it's called, the Zombie (Arghhh!) W-when you hear that zombie rockin' slow, Til the break o' dawn in the Congo, Ain't gonna lay to rest, 'til the mornin' light, Gonna raise some sand in the dead o' night M-mama hear them mumblin' low, (Til the dawn breakin' light) They go shufflin', shufflin', across the floor, (ooh ooh ooh) (In the dead of the night) Can you hear the little children cry? (Cryin' "Mama, mama") Watchout! (Arghh!!) Zombie's a terrible fright (Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh) This old new sensation, Nuther stone cold hit, Comin' up out the radio, It go so slow, it don't never quit (Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh) Man, you can't fight it, don't even try, Left an' right, they's goin' in drag-step time, This old repetition make 'em lose their mind (Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh) So children, Direct your feet right way on 'long That all infectious beat, c'mon, Everyone you know's out in the street, We gon' see if you can't sing along. W-when you hear that zombie rockin' slow, Til the break o' dawn, in the Congo, Ain't gonna lay to rest, 'til the mornin' light, Gon' raise some sand in the dead o' night M-mama hear them mumblin' low (Til the dawn breakin' light) They go shufflin', shufflin', across the floor, (ooh ooh ooh) (In the dead of the night) Can you hear the little children cry? (Cryin' "Mama, mama") Watchout! (Arghh!!) Zombie's a terrible fright (Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh) I grown so 'fraid of the man in the street, With a finger on the pulse, look dead on his feet, Way he say, "All I wanna do is eat, an eat." (Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh) I close my eyes, But why can I not rest? Cause the fear of death that do not die, Unsettle me where I lie, (Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh) That's why I bring 'em my best ol' slow-footed jump, Here rollin' with the things in the night go bump I wanna rid my head of all that nasty, nigglin' junk W-when you hear this zombie rockin' slow, Til the break o' dawn, in the Congo, Ain't gonna lay to rest, 'til the mornin' light, Gon' raise some sand in the dead o' night M-mama hear them mumblin' low (Til the dawn breakin' light) They go shufflin', shufflin', across the floor, (ooh ooh ooh) (In the dead of the night) Can you hear the little children cry?
