I first heard this guy in the pilot episode of Over The Garden Wall and thought he was a 60-something black man from Louisiana. Imagine my surprise when I found out he was a 30-something white guy from Australia.

I saw CW win over a completely hostile crowd at the Gympie Muster a few years back. The crowd was so antagonistic my band (waiting back stage) were getting ready to get festival security involved. CeeDub didn't bat an eyelid; just keep at 'em until they shut the hell up and listened. His performance was heroic in some senses; certainly brave and for me and my band ... inspiring. I still get goosebumps thinking about what I witnessed. Sensational!

He studie majik frum days of old. If i weren't already soo taken with him, this casting of a hook would set the spell neatly. From firmament to fall, kept completely, enraptured by stone king, the web he weaves through sung word and string. Thank you, kindly, for sharing your passing tale. Does he record through old equipment to get that sound, if you happen to know? I always wanted to try that, and; upon his recent discovery, by me, i see he saw sound that way, beat me too it, by at least two years, and a day.

For anybody that as douting about the fact that this man is for real , sat around the table met him in person yesterday ,and there is much more then a gutfeeling about this man ,just listening to his music ,the serenity that surrounds him , When he was talking at the gig there was 1400 people and you could hear a pin drop..... I can only say ...this man is for real. Mister CW you got a believer.

A case of reincarnation and past life. The guy must have lived in the 20/30 es and came back with unfinish business. Full awards for doing this and going their own ways and full score for making this retro style sound cool for a young generation today.

I cant believe Ive not heard of this him before a week ago. He is one of the most unique sounding artists Ive heard in a long time. yah sure he lives within musical stylings from many olden decades, but he takes them and blends them and makes unique, complex, precision songs and I like how he uses theatrics and sound effects also to build a more deeper, imagination immersive story.

That's right folks, who knows what strange wonders awaits our expeditioners On this journey to the dark corners of the globe, for this scientific purpose, ." "Uh, excuse me sir, there's been a problem with the boat. Ship's engineer wants to see you at once." "Quieten down man. We sail by midnight." An i went off sailin for the Congo, In a sloop called the mississippi Song-o Now I'm here singin them Jungle Blues In a shipwreck, way out on the ocean, Swimmin blind, lord, prayin and a'hopin, I washed up singin them Jungle Blues. Can't you hear them Jungle Drums thumpin? Buddy, thats' what gets my heart to jumpin, It ain't nutin but them Jungle Blues, And the monkeys, goin pitter-patter, In the darkness, my teeth begin to chatter, There ain't no cure for them Jungle Blues

... actually, if you listen to SNZ's "Hell" and CW Stoneking's "The love me or die", the melody is quite similar. I often find myself singing the lyrics of one with the music of the other and viceversa.... and then I need to listen to Tom Waits' "Little drop of poison". And this one (Jungle blues) needs to be listened next to SNZ's "Ghost of Stephen Foster". These artists just go great together!
