Rob McElhenney and David Hornsby are writing geniuses tbh. There’s always been more emotional serious episodes in sunny as well, but they’ve never gotten the recognition and appreciation they deserve. Especially with season 15. They really ran with it, creating a serialised season, full of emotion and narrative and I loved every second of it. I really feel it’s one of the strongest seasons and really shows all their full potential- but for some benign reason it wasn’t received well. So I’m glad they got to create a show that allowed them to fully realise their capabilities.

Izzy's obsession with Blackbeard is honestly so homoerotic and his fucking moaning "yes blackbeard" in the toe scene only further cements my belief. I'm SO curious how their dynamic will develop in the second season!! Edit: Send help, how do I watch the second season outside the US??

Obsessed with how Ed’s voice noticeably gets softer when he gets to the crucial line of what makes him happy, how he’s so nervous that he can’t even look at Stede when he says it. Big bad pirate turned into a nervous teenager with a crush.

That “curl up into a ball and die” line gets me every time. As someone who’s been through a devastating break-up with someone they still love, it’s such a hopeless gut-wrenching feeling. So happy they reunited in the show because this man was GOING through it. God bless

I think that they cut one of the most important parts! Stede made himself so vulnerable, and Mary.....smiled and gave him a hug! The best possible outcome of coming out!

"Is it safe to have a candle in here?" *eye-roll shrug.* Ed pointed out the danger of a Stede's fireplace on a wooden ship, in a room full of paper. He's fully aware that he's putting everything in danger of burning up, but he doesn't care. He's falling apart, and willing to let others fall apart with him, because if he can't be with Stede then he doesn't see the point of anything. Stede gave him permission to enjoy fine things. Fine foods, fine fabrics, fine books. Ed never thought he deserved nice things before. He was just a pirate who pirated for loot, not for culture. He's hanging on by a thread to the hope that he could still get to keep the nice things Stede introduced him to. When the thread snaps, he decides he doesn't deserve nice things after all. He decides that he actually is and always was unloveable after all. That he cannot have friends, or anything soft, because he is nothing more than a monster, and all that sweetness was just a delusion he needs to let go. He pushes Lucius away because Lucius represents hope for the soft life Stede created, rather than acceptance of the cruel life that Blackbeard created. Ed thinks he isn't worthy of anything more than being Blackbeard. Blackbeard is the demon he has worked for all his life, and Ed is heartsick for Stede, but Blackbeard drives him to be his worst and coldest self. And Izzy LOVES Blackbeard and hates Stede for weakening that paragon of cruelty. I love this show. It's so deep and layered. It's a masterpiece.

fuck… since i’m from russia this scene was cut out but i was SO SURE they left something out!! after i saw the word “boyfriend” get censored later on in the subs, i just had to make sure. It makes me so incredibly sad, i hate how homophobic my country is gosh, i’m gonna cry.. just let gay people enjoy romance like everyone else, why does it have to be this way
