Your coning is also called chamfering. Four 90's does restrict the flow, I use four 45's when posable.

I need to do this but I need to angle the 90' downward. Then need to fit a T to put a sprinkler in. As it sits now the sprinkler I have sits 1 inch too high. Angling them down will give plenty of room and I will just need to add a riser. Thanks for this vid!

Video but do you have to turn the water off somewhere in the house? I tried to pull mine out and water started to gush pretty heavily unlike when you pulled yours out I don’t see any valves or anything at the tub to turn the water off.

Absolutely fantastic and clear KZbin that really was appreciated. Thank you for a thoroughly clear and complete training video that was exactly what I needed. The Slick and Slide Silicone Past is no longer available. Lowes and Home Depot sell something I bought (on the shelf at Lowes) that worked fantastic called "Danco Silicone Grease 88693" for $4.48. Thank you so much again for providing exactly and completely what I needed!

This video is old, but it is a great video. I just followed it. Mine was really stuck on there. I soaked it with PB Blaster every day for about three days. On the final day, I heated the area with a heat gun-I did not use a torch. I heated it up for about five minutes, going around the nut. I was able to unscrew it with my hand, slow and easy!!!!

13 year old video helping me out today. Been having a leaking shower head since I moved in and decided to pull it apart. I have a plastic shower ball too so it also leaks from the handle. All the newer videos show plastic shower valves you replace but this is the style my home has. Copper with a plastic ball. Also I didnt see any springs when I pulled mine out, go figure. I'll check again but I wouldn't be surprised. Half the plumbing in this house was done by a hack job. Thank you 13 years later!

Used this video to replace the cartridge but now the water pressure from the shower sucks. The shower in my guest bathroom is fine so I’m not sure what I did wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
@bdr421220 күн бұрын
I assume there was no debris in the pipe before the cartridge was inserted. I would check the stop delimiter.

Something I learned, our homes pioes weree literally installed crooked! I knew the gandle was always slightly off, but when i looked in the "ten and two" were not centered. At some point we will need to call the plumber to have it reworked, but in the mean time i learned you MUST have the balls holes matched up with the valve holes, or else the hot and cold won't mix right! Just pay attention fo that tab slot it helps position it big time!

Very helpful and clear, thank you! My bonnet collar was stuck and I didn't want to pry too hard and couldn't find one in polished brass to replace it if I had to cut it to get it off. I put aluminum foil in the hole under the valve and had it drape over the tile so liquid would not go behind the tile. I alternated liberally applying CLR and WD40 for about 4 hours... the bonnet collar finally broke free. I know plumbers can't wait that long, but DIYers may want to give that a try.

I have the same problem with my Delta shower valve 1962 the cups are so old and hard I can't get them out I saw a comment where someone suggested using a crochet needle or crochet tool.

Wow! The shower tub valves seem way less "scary" to address now. We(my spouse and I) have a home with plumbing components that are now between 22 and 27 years old... each of the faucets have begun to leak (drip) through the 4 years we've been here. Addressing the sinks had felt very straightforward (easy). Thank you for making and sharing this video!

I've fixed mine today, the toughest part was to turn off the dome cap. Sprayed PB plaster on, and left it overnight, the next morning it came off as soon as I twisted it. Only changed the springs and washers. It cost me a total of $4.50. Thank you so much for your video.

Great DIY video! Total cost for moen cartridge, extra moen pin, plumber's grease and a knock off puller at Home Depot $66.45! The guy at Home Depot looked at me like I was crazy when he realized that I was fixing it myself. (Yes, I know I'm a women and I am going to fix it, lol) End result, It works great, I saved a lot of money and all due to your terrific DIY video! Thank you!

You just saved us a plumber/handy man call AGAIN and I fixed ANOTHER potty problem (technically 3: the Flowmaster valve repair and the leak tracking videos)! If I ever get to Ramona, I'm buying you a drink or a doughnut or giving you a hug.

Just followed your instructions and it worked perfectly to stop my leaking shower. I had to use PB Blaster on the dome cap. Sprayed it and just let it sit for about an hour. Went back and it popped loose. The rest was easy. Fixed it for a grand total of about $10.00. Thank you.
