why did the Pharisees and Sadducees hated Jesus and what was their motive to kill him

The Romans were the people who became Christian , in time, during history. Then Christianity spread round the world.

I just love the back-up vocals especially at the ending. "Fifty thousand! Love love love! Messiah! You get the glory! Forever and ever! You get the power! Forever Amen!"

There is no wonder that dancers are so slim. Think how many calories they expended dancing this. Its fantastic.

Geweldige muziek en heerlijk om te zien, deze acteurs in dit verhaal. Ted Neeley is een goede ' Jezus' figuur.

This song is an amazing addition and I LOVE it, but the timing is off and it stands out as out of place. At best, it should be in-between "everything's alright" and "this jesus must die", and at worst it messes with the introduction and impact of the Sanhedrin/priests. Always interesting to me that future productions/performances have kept,."could we start again, please", but not this.

the Pharisees didn't like Jesus cause of the corruption that they've brought in Israel and they didn't want to change their wicked ways.

What I like about this song is that almost every line ends with the cadence of "buh BUH buh", called an amphibrach foot in poetry. I believe it's very unusual for a song or poem to use this poetic foot to this degree.

I met them both last night and they (and Ted and Yvonne) were so sweet, kind great to their fans. We watched the entire movie. All of them very humble; Kurt is a live wire, and Yvonne is a hoot! What a great gal! Really funny. They all seem to totally enjoy being back together again and on the road. It's the 50th anniversary so try to catch them on tour!

I just met him last night at the 50th anniversary showing of the movie--got to sit with Ted Neeley! What a great bunch of people. Bob Bingham, Kurt Yaghjian (Annas), Yvonne... super down to earth and friendly. I told Bob that his voice---sends me to heaven. He shared how he got into showbusiness and this film--it all seemed so sudden. 50 years later he still seems surprised by his fame!

You know anything could happen and with a huge show of support like a collaborative effort or a visit could be effective. Everybody on Earth has a way to accomplish this plan so any way it happens is welcomed it's one of those things that is better when you get it out!

It is a shame how some productions drop this. In my opinion it's perhaps the best song in the entire show. Very powerful music.

0:23 Insanely clumsy music edit, as the piano run that heralds Annas' first line is chopped into and the tape started again from the beginning to serve as filler for the rest of his walk to Caiaphas' pad.

I just met him last night in New Brunswick! He still has that voice. We had a nice chat. He is a SUPER nice guy! And Kurt Yaghjian was there too... he is lively, charming. Everyone was great. They played the entire movie; got to sit next to Ted Neeley all night!

Even beyond theological and ethical considerations, Jesus of Nazareth was absolutely right to preach pacifism in the face of Roman occupation. Look what happened when the Zealots went too far only 30 years later.
