i dont get why they have different number of protons than electrons. I assumed we started with neutral charged atoms which means they have same protons as electrons right? so in NH4+ how did you know there were only 10 electrons if there are 11 protons?

Why do sugar molecules separate from each other when dissolved? I know interactions with water can breaks apart ionic bonds from NaCl, but what does water do with sugar since they cannot break the covalent bond? Why do sugar float around randomly instead of being at the same level or sink to the bottom, like if you were to stir balls of iron?

Then y is there 2 Hydrogens and 1 Oxygen if there’s no need for hydrogen a (diatomic element) to bond together with another hydrogen atom if it’s already forming one with an Oxygen atom
