Anyone who tells you that the 6.2/6.5 runs at 220 or more are f*cking morons. Anything about 215 and your pistons are getting burned. Ideally the 6.5 should be running under 200. Take it from us H1 owners who have been dealing with this for decades. The military doesn't care about motor longevity. They just toss new motors in these things like we change our underwear. Put a 180 tstat in and change out the fan termperature switch to a 200 (OEM is a 220) and you'll be happy.

What type of paint did you use for the Humvee?
@verocola633511 күн бұрын
12volts or 24volts, for the same watts, the amps are so low that it really doesn't matter, because that switch only powers the fan relay coil, which is what really handles the fan circuit.

I have seen those and studied it a bit, seems to have mixed opinions on if it helps or not. I just figured if I could lower the overall coolant temp it would help those rear cylinders out a bit! Plus these optimizer blocks are improved over the old chevy ones.

looks great. I hear these things are very slow and only do like 55 to 60MPH on the freeway.
@TheCoralSniper27 күн бұрын
Very common misconception, the old 3 speed humvess could reliably run upto 55mph ish but could be pushed closer to redline a fair bit faster (more like 65mph) These newer 4 speed trucks can do 70mph plus reliably. Also fuel economy is not as bad as rumors say, average 11 mpg

I always wondered if a coolant radiator mounted on the roof would help with removing the heat from the engine bay and freeing up space for larger independant heat exchangers/ ac/ trans etc. up front.
@TheCoralSniperАй бұрын
I'm sure it would help very much! That angled radiator has a hard time dissipating heat especially at higher speeds! The red dot AC kits sometimes mounted the condensers on the roof like you are saying, they work very well I hear.
@ElijahPerrin80Ай бұрын
@@TheCoralSniper Rerouting the non engine coolant heat exchangers to the roof may be an option allowing a larger engine coolant radiator and I know the trans, Ac, engine oil and diffs etc would benefit from the extra cooling of a roof mounting instead.

Very impressive my man. I noticed you had some sound absorbing foam as a headliner. I need to do the same thing for mine - do you feel like it has helped at all? Where did you get it and how did you attach it?
@TheCoralSniper3 ай бұрын
I used acustic foam from Amazon, sprayed it with headliner adhesive, it helped a little, biggest help was that dog house add on i did, the more you can insulate between yourself and the engine the better for noise reduction

I like all the detail. I see you have sound insulation on the dog house too. I bet the truck is quiet inside. We run ours hard off road. I wouldn’t be able to have the power distribution box there as it would get drenched with water and mud. What kind of adventures have you had with it so far?
@TheCoralSniper6 ай бұрын
The insulated dog house did the most for the engine noise, it was a bit much otherwise, I honestly didn't do very much adventuring with it as it was my daily driver, spent alot of time driving it but nothing extreme. I'm working on a new one now, will have the 12v Inverter inside the cab this time, also going to do a new style doghouse, will be posting videos soon!
