What kind of salt are you using? I used to make mine with "cheese salt", but I bet i could just use Celtic sea salt.

@@robhowe8353 I use either the Celtic salt or Redmond’s real salt.

Just so you know: It's pronounced keh-FEER, not KEE-fur. It comes from the Russian/Turkish word meaning "good feeling" or "pleasure." In those countries, they would certainly not say "KEE-fur."

What has really saved me money is keeping my fridge/freezer/pantry stocked up with all my staples. This way I can hold out for the best prices on high-quality food. Then, I just grab the more perishable things from the grocery store when I am ready to make a meal (from scratch). I might have to stop off at the store for a fresh herb, or a certain veggie, or a certain cheese. I know where to get all these items the cheapest possible while still being organic. I buy only ingredients, and absolutely ZERO prepared food. None. I do spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but the meals are pretty easy. Chicken is easy to make into a fancy meal. Lamb stew is also simple, soup is not hard to make. ferments are not labor intensive. All together, it is a lot of work, but with practice it can be streamlined.
