Great question and point. A relay would be redundant in applications where you can find an ignition based power source that also supplies enough amperage for the units. There are cases where you cannot easily find an ignition based power source with enough amperage, which would require using a separate power wire and trigger wire to make this a switched accessory. The relay is a good solution for situations like this. Still, It's certainly not the only way, as some installers will choose to go straight to the fuse box with a fuse tap to an ignition switched slot that has proper amperage, or something similar. It's worth mentioning here for anyone else reading that we do recommend you hire a professional 12volt automotive shop if you are not familiar and experienced with automotive wiring.

You can use steam on faux leather, but can not use a heat gun on faux leather upholstery.

We wouldn't suggest misting them, but setting the seats in direct sunlight by itself will help dissipate minor wrinkling. The methods shown in this video just help speed up that process, and steaming the upholstery makes it easier to install.
