This was the greatest campaign ever!! I was 10 years old when I played this I got it for Christmas on Christmas Eve and I played until it was time to wake up for morning presents, 15 years later I still remember almost every detail, the numbers and all the betrayal shaped my outlook on what the world is really like and to top it all off… that Kennedy assasination is still one of the craziest video game tie ins I’ve ever seen!

There's a theory that the CIA knew about the numbers protocol that Dragovich was doing and managed to use Mason to kill Kennedy using the numbers. It always made me wonder why the CIA was willing to let Mason come back to work for them when there were signs that he was compromised, unless if they had some form of control over him. I wouldn't even be surprised if the CIA perfected the numbers use on Mason by having him do truly secret op missions throughout the 60s, thus explaining all the times he went MIA.

So it’s implied that mason wasn’t the one that killed jfk. But it was Lee Harvey. He was a sleeper agent too that was brainwashed, he was one that was successful. Hence the “Oswald compromised”. Also it’s theorized irl that there was a second gunman the day of the assassination. That’s where Treyarch had an opening to put mason and create this story around the second gunman that was never found. It makes even more sense at black ops 2 campaign that the brainwashing never truly left, that’s why he was there at the inauguration. Absolutely great story telling and peak campaign imo.

the first mission of the game takes place in 1961 in cuba when mason is captured by dragovich he takes mason to vokuta until 1963 he manages to escape then after that he goes to the pentagon and then stops the rocket and after that we only found that in 1968 for the next mission and as Hudson says he has memory lapses which have not yet returned between these years. and between these years he kills kennedy
