How many ounces do your molds hold? I just started pouring silver and I'm looking for molds that not everyone is using. I'm glad I ran across your channel! Do you make molds that hold somewhere around an ounce of silver? I have a hard time finding molds that hold such a small amount of silver. Thanks.

Hi, sir. I have the EZ Pro chopper and the gears are made of plastic. I was wondering if people like me would send you the plastic parts and you would cast it from plastic to metal for a charge?

Очень хорошее и дорогое, возможно 😂....тату... А плавильня дешёвая... Способ литья древний и некачественный. Ничего для меня интересного тут нет. Я учусь у других мастеров, которые используют современные способы литья с применением современных материалов.

Is there a sweet spot for heating up the mold prior to pouring? I started putting them in my forge to heat them up, but still getting a lot of cave in after the pour. Also a lot of pitting inside the bars when i mill them out. Any suggestions? Do you flatten the back side of your coin pours?
@MrMelter
@MrMelter Жыл бұрын
Don’t put them in the furnace. Just a quick heat with a blow torch just in case there’s any moisture. Depending on what type of metal you’re pouring will cause pitting usually caused from not degassing and air is entrapped in the molten metal.

@@MrMelter I'll try that. Mostly I'm just melting soda cans for aluminum. How does one "degas" the puddle of liquid metal in the crucible?

Did you scale your printed patterns up to account for shrinkage in the aluminum castings? I am puzzling over the best way to create duplicates of change gears for a lathe. Any input would be appreciated.
@MrMelter
@MrMelter Жыл бұрын
I didn’t because they weren’t going to be used for anything. Depending on the size yours are though you might want to scale it up just a tiny bit. If it’s 3D printed, your part might not be exact due to printing tolerances so verify it before casting it.

What happens if the can is not totally dry inside. How do you insure they are dry? I have 2 giant trash cans full of cans that I want to melt, but some dont feel completely dry!
@MrMelter
@MrMelter Жыл бұрын
Any moisture will pretty much evaporate when you put it in so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Unless there’s a lot of liquid left over it won’t be a problem. Mine typically sit for a few months outside in the heat before I even melt them so it’s not really an issue.
