What I'm getting fromt his video is that these vehicles are high cost money pits just to maintain them. Sounds like the Toytota Sequoia is a much better built low maintenance cost vehicle.

Those cyl heads with the screw in studs are far better than the later non-adjustable rocker style.

Those early heads should be 52 cc. They would raise your newer 304 around a point of compression. I'd hang onto those and just throw a set of the lower compression bridged rocker heads on that chipper motor. The early Gen 2 motors had smaller diameter head bolts too. Not so good for head gasket sealing. Gen 3 block with Gen 2 heads are the way to go.

The studded heads are good for running roller rockers too. I think those heads are a good score for a low buck 304 hot rod car motor build.

Alternator bracket is stock for the early externally regulated alternator. (Not that hacked on piece though). You can use a later water pump, you just need to press the hub back on the shaft a little bit to match the 3 bolt crank pulley so they line up. Or just convert everything to the late model accessory drive if you have parts from a spare engine.

Is the Falcon a Sprint or a Futura??? Brother and I both had Sprints. His had a full race 260, dual point, 2X4 intake, 2 4 barrel Hollys, 4 speed. Mine was a stock 260 with 4 speed and little 2 barrel. My son saw pictures of mine and ended up with two, one Sprint and one Futura. My younger brother bought one of my son's and totally restored it for his son. My son restored his Sprint with a 302 bored 20 over and used a Mustang 4 speed. Good memories

In 1968 through 1971, AMC entered Trans/Am Road race series, with a factory modified shorten 2 seat version of the Javelin called the AMX... In order to qualify for this popular race series, manufacturers cars had to have engines 5 liters or under... In this case, AMC had the 304 Cubic Inch V8 AMX.... Chevrolet had The 1967-69 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 which was a muscle car with a 302 cubic inch (4.9 L) V8 engine that was designed to compete in the SCCA Trans-Am Series:which was ordered with Camaro Z28 options code... The 302 engine had a 327 small block with solid lifter, four-bolt mains, and a large journal out of 283 V8 crankshaft. It produced 290 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque The Z/28 was produced from 1967-1969, with 602 produced in 1967, 7,199 in 1968, and 19,014 in 1969... Chrysler had the 340 Plymouth AAR Cuda and Dodge T/A Challeger, both Magnum V8's race engines only were modified under Keith & Black borrowed 303 displacement V8 past and 277-340 V8's 1960s & 1970s edit The 1956 Plymouth 303 displacement 302.5 cu in (4,957 cc) and uses the same connecting rods as the 277; the bore is 3+13⁄16 in (96.8 mm; 3.81 in) and the stroke is 3+5⁄16 in (84.1 mm; 3.31 in).

1968 AMC Trans Am AMC V8 was 3.842" bore x 3.28" stroke when SCCA allowed No Change to Factory Stroke, but for 1970 once SCCA did allow changing factory stroke, the AMC TransAm 5.0 Liter V8 became 4.08" bore x 2.906" stroke, when they won. No production AMC 304 is built like what AMC ran as 5.0 Liters in SCCA, unlike Ford and Chevrolet who actually did, sadly there is no production ~4" Bore AMC 5.0 Liter... It's also amazing AMC NEVER offered a 4-Barrel AMC 304 stock from the factory, ever, in anything.

That bracket for the alternator is called the z bracket. Standard on AMC V8's. Don't loose it. Valve covers were on backwards, there should be a tag on one of them. It will tell you manufacturing date. IF it's a early 304, you are looking at 200 hp at the crank and a 10 to 1 compression ratio. Not sure why AMC changed the crank mid production. Hopefully someone here can answer that question. Alternator bracket looks like it came from a 232 or 258. Dip stick is from the same engines.
