I see a derelict trainers almost every airport I go to which is a lot. Go to your local airport and look around at what’s on the ramp and the ones in need of new owner stand out. Make some calls - who knows what you might fine. Good trainers like Cessna Piper will be worth fixing up and flying!

Hey Rich, love your channel. Keep it going as it is very informative and fun to watch. I was making a comment not only to praise your channel but also ask about the Cessna Silver Eagle conversion. What is your opinion and could you possibly do a video on one? Thanks again and keep the greasy side down. BTW I fly a cessna R182 and really like it so far. I first owned a bellanca viking then moved to a cherokee six. The r182 is kinda the best of both of those aircraft. Good load and speed. Easy to fly.

be wicked if the markets could get the pratt & whitney CDN prices down get all the boys up in the air. although perhaps 80,000 90,000 get ya in some 20ths , put the pavement all over out side of cities. also do you not get urges to tear it up get low skim the water cruze the hills work the motor? or is this just not something these planes do?

My dad was an engineer at WSMR and one of his good friends was also an engineer at WSMR who flew A-4’s in the Navy. He was partners in a 182 and would take us flying from time to time. He and my dad like to hunt deer and they would fly into a ranch that was located in a remote part of the Gila National Forest to pursue big muley bucks. While I was in high school, they took me along on two such trips. After discovering how neat it was to be able to fly into remote hunting locations I caught the aviation bug. I started pursuing my private pilot’s license but life happened. I still enjoy videos like this one and I appreciate you posting. EDIT: The burgers looked awesome. As they say in ranch country, “Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner.”

I do enjoy watching your videos, I'm also considering my first A/C while I still can, getting too close to 70 so no time to waste. Anyways, In the back of my mind I'm thinking " C182 or F33A ? If I could find a F33C I'd trade in my boat and live in a van. I blame your videos btw. Seriously, I've missed flying in So Cal because I grew up next to Disneyland, discovered and learned how to fly there. Fullerton to Bishop to Henderson to Catalina to Long Beach. It great seeing those views again. I'm looking forward to the next installment, what number are you up to? I'm serious about the F33C.

When using my sim, Sir, at 32⁰C OAT at sea level, I find it difficult to maintain the ITT below 765⁰C, taking off at 1,700 ft-lbs 1,900 rpm, climbing at 1,500 ft-lbs 1,900 rpm up to 8,000-ft TOC, then cruise at 1,300 ft-lbs 1,750 rpm yielding 140-KIAS with 270 PPH. It took a while to lower ITT at 742⁰C during cruise. Is there something wrong with my torque settings?
@FlyingwithRich10 күн бұрын
I would say torque settings are fine and even conservative. You should easily get 1865 lbs (max torque) at sea level at 0 C be well below the max take off temp of 805 C. Those conditions are optimal and you should have no problem with ITT or torque limits. E-mail me and I can send you max torque and temp charts.

Great planes, but unless you have at least 2 million liquid or a 500k-750k plus stream of income-you cannot afford it. I’ve flown these and my friend has one. It will eat you alive on costs. For flight planning, you’d better plan on an average of 40gph if you are climbing high. The pressurization will be so so at best and your ac probably won’t work most of the time. They are great rides-no doubt about it but they are not for most.
