I’ve realized how vulnerable learning is as an older student pilot. I admire your style and your flying ability which you openly share on the channel. It’s encouraging to see a pilot at your skill level still learning. Great content as always.

For supply, how about the manufacturers stop making $1m airplanes and make some for the poors. Mooney, Beech, Piper, and Cessna don’t make anything for normal people. Let’s take mooney, the 201 and M20K are some of the best planes made, and yet, they had to drop them and make $1m plus monsters.
@FlyingwithRich5 күн бұрын
Simple supply & demand economics to me - the reason the lower priced airplanes aren’t manufactured is because few bought them. Cessna tried to build a low cost Skyhawk and no one bought it! Mooneys aren’t in production anymore because Mooney couldn’t make a profit.

I don't understand the purpose of all the music for videos like this. It's just noise that gets in the way of us learning about the plane - and thats what we are here for.

I agree with the prior comment that said to buy a plane of this caliber on a private pilot license is ignorant. It’s just too much plane for a beginner and you either have too much money to waste. A prime example of biting off more than you can chew.

Two years later he is alive, no damage to aircraft. He has IFR, Commercial and Jet Type Rating. In many ways, this airplane is more safe for an inexperienced pilot than a 182. Thanks for watching!

But he put his life on the line. If he didn’t have a support group of other certified pilots, he would’ve killed himself. Who wants to take that kind of chance.

Over half a million dollars for a well-equipped but very slightly used 172. Which materials and labor and a reasonable profit do not come close to making sense of. And yet everyone laments participation in GA plummeting. 🙄
@FlyingwithRich10 күн бұрын
Who’s at fault? Also, do you know real costs to build new aircraft?
@LostButMakingGoodTime9 күн бұрын
@@FlyingwithRichThe answer is quite complex at first glance, but almost every single piece has its roots in the same place: the FAA. And it would be easy to say the cost is what it is, or that the profit margin is much lower than most would believe, but the cost increase has been far, far above inflation even after carving out the enormous portion under liability and insurance. And again, almost all of it, including the GA market and manufacturing environment, can be traced right back to the FAA. Given the experience of those who have tried, it pains me to say it may never be resolved.

If the value of an overhaul increases the value of the aircraft, then why not just go ahead and provide that service ahead of time and reap the rewards? I call BS on that statement. I love the 182T. It is a solid aircraft.
@FlyingwithRich18 күн бұрын
So, you call BS on the statement that, “the value of the overhaul increases the value of the aircraft”? I think you will find few who agree with you. Also, overhaul cost can range in value and one buyer may value a field overhaul or prefer an airplane with a run out engine. Others may prefer a factory reman verse a field overhaul. I see this all the time - same as paint, someone does a paint job with blue and the potential buyer assigns no value to new paint because he/she like red.

I like the diamond d42 because it's one of the safest planes out there you can get it with a parachute if you like that type of stuff but what appeals to me the most is that unlike most twin aircraft the diamond the 42 can fly from point A to point B with just one engine most aircraft if you lose an engine you have to land at the nearest airport however the diamond if you lose an engine you land at your destination Airport.

A Bonanza never gets grounded due to parachute repacks (every 10 years) because the Chinese company (Cirrus) does not keep spares in stock. Better off with a Diamond, safer, but Bonanzas are hard to beat.
