Piper hit it well with the M600, and thats why we are on our second one. Performance for the fuel burn it has it second to none for single engine turbine. Love the paint, we have the same gray and silver on ours, looks really good with the blackout package as well. Ours is the same setup except GDL 60, but we hope to get it installed at annual. Love the autothrottle as well, it works and havent had a single problem with it, have had some software minor issues, but they all got fixed easily. Rich- you should do the 2 planes we are thinking of upgrading to next, the TBM 960 and Epic E1000GX. Keep up the good videos, this one is on my top favorites.

great video. I was fortunate enough to take the Piper factory tour back in April and got to see these coming off the line. Amazing people there still building solid aircraft after all these years
@spiller21219 күн бұрын
Solid aircraft? Well, with the ongoing wing spars issues they have had for years now and two new ADs (affecting more than 20,000 aircraft) released this year, I am not sure I would call Piper products “solid”. Sorry, but I can’t trust a company that builds aircraft where the wings come off mid flight, even on almost new airplanes and without being overstressed. Google for that issue and you will find plenty of newspaper articles (even recent ones) of crashes where the wings literally detached from PA28s and PA32s. Never heard of any other GA airplane where even something remotely similar happened.

What about costs like insurance? I would have to deep dive my KZbin history to find it, but a few months ago I was watching video of a young guy flying a Vision Jet that his family recently acquired. He said they considered an M600, but the insurance cost was the big deciding factor to go with the SF50. He said the M600 was literally going to cost twice as much to insure, probably because of his *relatively* low time. He mentioned numbers like $30K/yr for the SF50, vs. $60K/yr for the M600. Sounded like the insurance companies would just rather not take on these high performance turboprop singles for a pilot with 3 digits of total time. I couldn’t afford the fuel to fly an M600 for more than an hour a month 😂, let alone buy one, but I still like to think, “wouldn’t it be cool if…”. But it’s cool to know how much of my fantasy money it would take to own a fantasy airplane. 🤑 For turboprop singles, how do the insurance costs look on the “truck/SUVs” planes vs. the “Ferraris”? Like Kodiaks/Caravans that are slower, and not near as sexy, but crazy more capable in certain ways.

@MGMidget733 ай бұрын
I agree. For the cost I would consider the useful load embarrassingly low. Three hours is also lackluster. From the interior shots I would pay more attention to the outside then he is. I'm certified fixed and rotorcraft so I have more then a little experience. A midair or close one can really ruin your day. The hardest thing to fight is with more experience it is easy to get complacent.
@FlyingwithRich3 ай бұрын
@@MGMidget73 Give me an example of a better useful load in the similiar class airplane? Same with Range? @MGMidget733 ай бұрын
@@FlyingwithRichWell for that kind of money Id consider the Kodiak 100 or even the 900. 100 pounds of luggage is basically 20 pounds for five people. Not exactly a vacation transport.
