Personally, I'm still massively unsatisfied with the execution of KH3 and the conclusion of the Xehanort Saga. I just feel they didn't squeeze the most potential out of what was on the table. Some characters with powerful arcs, got way too sidelined.

In KH2 you missed that the 2.5 version added christmas costumes in halloween town. Kh2fm ps2 only added the new music.
@Titan_Trainer11 күн бұрын
The Christmas Town outfits, as well as its field/battle themes were all added in Final Mix back on the PS2 version. These would only be made available outside of Japan when the 2.5 collection released on the PS3.

it always bothered me how many people complained about kh3's vanilla content, as if it wasn't perfectly comparable to what KH1/KH2/BBS had at launch. hopefully more people are aware of this so that kh4 doesn't get hit with the same insane expectations.
@Titan_Trainer18 күн бұрын
That's honestly one of the main reasons I made this video. I've seen too many people online who've clearly misremembered the content of previous games, and how much of it wasn't present in their original releases, such as Critical Mode, which was rarely ever included in base games. I'm hoping more people, especially newer fans, discover how much content was added post-launch to then have a better, more fair comparison when future games launch, and their potential updates/DLC later on.

My man.... thank you for this video, Kingdom Hearts has been always part of my childhood - of my life; I can't imagine a world where I didn't have it - this video made me feel just like when I play the game whether it be for the first time or the 7th time whether it be Kh2 or Kh3 or Kh DDD - I am inspired and moved deeply. Your videos, both of them did justice to KH3 but this one hit it out the park - no, the atmosphere for me - amazing video. Keep up the GOATED work, I felt like I was destined to find this video, and I'm glad I did.

Great stuff. I kind of miss the days when RPGs would get their new content all at once in a Final Mix-style update, compared to the gradual dripfeed of new content through post-launch patches. It was worse for the consumer since you'd have to buy a whole new version of the game for full price, but it felt more monumental than adding a small amount of new stuff/changes 10-15 times.
@poleon2003Ай бұрын
Also other changes you missed for the HD 2.5 ReMIX version of Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix compared to the OG version is that the Absent Silhouettes and their data battles in the English version are now using voice clips from their English voice actors sourced from Re:Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days and also Roxas's voice clips now have his voice clips sourced from 358/2 Days and (for some odd reason) Ventus's voice clips from Birth by Sleep but still good stuff just wanted to add on a few things

I've actually beaten The Phantom on International KH1 Vanilla, so seeing it brought over on PS2 in America for the 1st time was AWESOME, my dude. X3 You are correct ablut THAT. ;3 Also, Technically wrong about Goofy's Weapons... Donald's & Sora's were the only 2 who got weapons added in KH1FM. Goofy's Shields were obtainable using 7 Elementsl Masteries from the White Mushroom Heartless, & Bumpershield since Behemoth Heartless were able to be Encountered again if you restart the visit to The Final World, & have Lucky Strike to get more prizes from The Behemoth after beating him. If you still couldn't find it, it was in an out-of-the-way treasure chest you'd have to find yourself which randomly replaces one of the The Final World's Items in one of the many chests ingame as well, possibly screwing yourself out of The Ultima Weapon or a synthesis material for another item as well. However, anti-frustration features were added in later copies to avoid lockouts of The Ultima Weapon as well, since early versions were bugged with this in mind to stop players from getting early as well. Players complained, and they answered their calls, recalling all previous versions...or if some got keot for sentimental reasons as well. That's why some copies are collectable as well!...

I think something you may have missed was along with the new cutscene added to the 358/2 days movie, they added a theater mode to Kh1 on the ps4 version in the same update. Up until then, kh1 was the only game that lacked a theater mode

Yes, I was considering putting that in, but at the time, I didn't think the Theatre Mode was that important to mention in the video, but thank you for bringing it up here.

This is a really solid recap. There were definitely a couple things I didn’t realize had gone completely over my head before, such as Night in the Bald Mountain not being present in the initial copy of KH. I was wondering if you'd touch on Union X being pulled from stores, since that lies in a weird inbetween state of relevance to this video. It makes sense that it was ultimately outside the scope of what this video was trying to discuss though. In either case, this was a very enjoyable, high-quality viewing experience. As always, I appreciate all the time and effort you’ve put into this endeavor, and I'm as excited as ever for wherever this channel's future leads!
@Titan_TrainerАй бұрын
Thanks so much! I always appreciate the kind words. Regarding the Union X situation, the app disappeared from the stores when I was mostly done with editing, and I honestly *really* didn't feel like re-writing and re-recording (again). 😅
@tropichawk850Ай бұрын
@@Titan_TrainerYou're welcome! As far as Union X is concerned, that's completely reasonable. I can easily tell just how much time was spent on this video regardless. It can't be a simple process to make a video this long that's so well-researched in its information and so polished in its presentation. Besides, that entire situation is just enough beyond the scope of this video that it doesn't really feel an exclusion anyway.

I still don't like 3D's combat, I'm not sure why. It just feels too light with Flowmotion, And a few other things.
@ErikthedoodАй бұрын
Well yeah, obviously, compared to the numbered titles and even 0.2, DDD’s combat physics leave a lot to be desired. The OP is just pointing out that they rebalanced the 3DS’s combat physics to give enemies more stagger animations for the re-released HD versions.
@jakesayskneeАй бұрын
That intro was *official* level quality. Well done! 😮

Thank you so much! When I stated editing, the intro was one of the first ideas I had, and one of the last things I worked on for the video, so I really appreciate your kind words!
@kingdomkey2262Ай бұрын
One big change you missed for Dream Drop HD, the enemy stagger was greatly overhauled and improved so it actually has an effect, whereas on 3DS enemies and most bosses never really reacted to your hits so it lead to alot of unfair deaths on critical mode as you traded blows with an overly stacked enemy. It seems like a small thing but it just makes the newer version's combat feel so much smoother.

50:14 bc of this smile, people started to shipping Namine and Riku, but in the update version they "fixed" by removing it, till this day I don't understand this change, a smile doesn't mean anything aside of just greeting a beloved friend of yours but anyways...
@Crafty_boy70Ай бұрын
Some of the smaller changes made in these updates are really underrated (Especially the addition of the Bald Mountain song) but a few of them feel a bid odd. I think the most unnecessary one is the change in the sky after the forging of the X-blade in KH3. I feel like darkness raining down from the sky fit much better for the upcoming apocalypse.
@Titan_TrainerАй бұрын
Agreed. I love the symbolism post-update for that cutscene, showing that Kingdom Hearts was taking in so much darkness, that the night sky completely changed to day, but I do wish they at least kept the raining darkness; emphasising how much of it was spreading.
@Crafty_boy70Ай бұрын
@@Titan_Trainer ah, I didn’t catch on to that! Maybe because the darkness clears away in an outward direction rather than towards Kingdom Hearts.

Dude! This video was so so so awesome! I love watching these kinda videos about version differences and dlc content! Even learn new things like the cutscene with evil queen in the original BBS. It's sad that the Union X DarkRoad app was delisted from all app stores :( Luckily I can always re-download from my library. But I guess new fans can always watch the cutscenes on KZbin especially the videos by Damo. I'm not sure but I read it somewhere that in KH1 HD Final Mix, they add the Mickey symbol to the journal section to tell the player it's 100% complete. I'm not sure if that was on the original PS2 final mix.
