Hello, my land rover discovery has the same problem that you describe in this video, the solution you propose is very ingenious and I would also like to implement it in my car. Could you give me the information about the oil capture system? Where can I buy it and the specifications. Thank you very much for your help!
@DiscoworxАй бұрын
@@EmersonDanielRamirezSanchez just look up 'oil catch can' on eBay. If you put a small (tiny!) leak in the vacuum system you don't need a catch can though. I've never had a drop of oil in the can. I'd concentrate on that and the additional non-return valve(s). Just take the hose off the end of the booster and take it to a pneumatics supplier and show them what you want to do. You also want a filter on where you introduce the leak. None of it will be expensive.

Good video. 8m fairly sure that the exhaust is just dumping the pressure between the compressor and the first valve block so there would not be a huge amount of air it's exhausting each time.
@Discoworx2 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure the compressor always comes on for a short period whenever the car is started, not just overnight. I had thought this could be from air exhausting when the compressor turns off, dropping some pressure but if that was the case the compressor would always be 'hunting' (starting and stopping) so i don't think that's the cause.

Just use the two new non return valves with barbs on them. I can't remember the size. I think it was 8mm / 5/16. You would also install a T with a needle valve on it to bleed to atmosphere (extremely slowly). Put an exhaust filter on it, too. So this would possibly be a threaded 1/8 T and fit 8mm barbs x 1/8 male and a 1/8 male needle valve with a 1/8 exhaust filter. Go to a pneumatics shop and they will understand and help you. Take the hose from the booster to make sure you get the right size.

Sorry to react on this Video, but in your Diesel Heater video I saw that your Exhaust is mounted dangerously wrong. It's mounted upside down and has a sink in the pipe. It can fil itself up with moisture this way..
@Discoworx2 жыл бұрын
Upside down? I was pretty sure I had the drain hole of the muffler pointing down but I'll double check, thanks. As for the bend, maybe. The velocity of the exhaust gas here is constant unlike the muffler where it really slows down and has a chance to cool down which is when the moisture would drop out of it. I'll keep an eye on it though. Thanks.

Comments are off on the diesel heater video, for obvious reasons. Just reiterating that the pump needs to be at an angle, or you risk early failure. Yours is sitting flat.

I am a bit concerned in that it looks like the motor supports are just sitting on home made dampening and cowling with just the cut out concaved cuts keeping it in position without any fastening points. Did you try to dampen the supports to the manufacturers fastening points and if so did it help at all? Cheers
@Discoworx3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, you could try that but this system of dampening has been working like this for years now. If you fasten the motor mount that gives a means of transferring vibration. Also, you would be limiting/making it more difficult to dampen as opposed to working in free space. You can see that the dampers are fixed via tek screws. Unless there's a MASSIVE earthquake the motor isn't going to move. The cutouts are substantial enough to ensure that. Cheers.

Thanks so much for this thorough review. I also received my Magnifica from a friend and performed a complete cleaning and lubrication of the infuser assembly and transmission, full wipe down, and vacuuming but the machine would still report a Generic Alarm even without running the self-diagnosis and I successfully ran all functions in Load Test Mode, Display Test Mode, and Counting Mode. Finally, I was able to get a delicious double serving of coffee after leaving the coffee maker unplugged overnight. Question for the experts...I have the Magnifica. It will pull single shot but not double. Pump sounds normal at start and quickly gets quiet with nothing coming out. I replaced pump with oem after 3 complete descaling procedures made no difference. Hot water and steam works good. Water comes out of espresso nozzles at startup and shutdown. I fully cleaned and lubricated the plunger assembly (even that plug and tiny hole below screen). No signs in tubing of scale buildup. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Interesting. I haven't had the machine for a few years so it's hard to comment. I suspect that you were on the right track with the descaling for a blockage but you might have to get more mechanical. Maybe a crimped/blocked hose?
