It’s a Placebo Effect. High end cost cables makes you feel like it sounds better, and gives you the delusion that they will last longer. Do a pure blind test against $500 cables, $6000 cables, and $46000 cables and see if people can really tell a difference. This is why Audioquest, Monster, and these other brands never do blind audio tests.
I have returned several one meter Evergreen cables…and they aren’t $50 - they are between $75 and $100 in price. I wrote to the company and they said they don’t solder or weld the wires connectors - that they crimp them. They said “solder degrades the audio signal.” WTF? All high end audio has soldered boards and connections. High end speakers have soldered crossover components. That’s total B.S. excuse for poor design and manufacturing. Its no wonder they fail! Look at those crap wire to connector connection! If you pull, twist, bend these cables you will have problems. I would never buy AudioQuest again. Total cheap junk!

you can't compare the 761 to the 860A V2 that's an unfair comparison you'd have to compare it to the 861 and that one is much better than the 860AV2.
@chrisrichards2827Ай бұрын
I just bought the 861 and it is even that much better than the 761 It's at least 25 to 30% better you can hear little nuances way in the background that aren't as clear with the 761 and I've listened to both and believe me the 761 is no slouch either.

Why do they all have the same exact rubber where the Y splits? It appears they are all made and pressed at the same factory in China and they all look identical, however one costs $9 and the Big Surr costs $180 dollars. I don't feel confident in paying extra money for something that is so identical and makes almost zero difference in sound quality. Please help explain the 99% similarities in the pressing and rubber, and the end connectors are identicle.

I recently upgraded from Kimber 8PR to hORNS Silver speaker cables. Only 5 seconds is all I need to notice the improvenent. The purity of the copper inductor is very important. You get more crystal clear sound. It's worth all the payment. I also have Audioquest Water interconnect too but recently got the top model Cardas clear beyond used for a good price. Cardas cables sound more neutral than Audioquest but both of them are exceptionally good. New Cardas product prices are very steep because they're made in USA compared to Audioquest are made in China.

In the early 70s my father had a stereo that was considered very, very high end. Turntable Thorens MKII, preamp McIntosh C26, amp McIntosh MC150 and speakers Acoustic Research AR3. This was also considered very expensive at the time. Total cost was around 1,700 dollars which converted to 2024 makes around 14,000. What happened to hi-fi ? Prices are totally insane.

I hope you kept the Mac. If they were close in performance/sound signature then saving the $8k differential is massive! Plus the depreciation on the Aavik is going to be significantly greater than on the Mac. Not to mention serviceability. I had the 462 on loan from my dealer twice and didnt pull the trigger. Cable nonsense for dim wits and easily led minds. So much fake nonsense in hifi cable, many who work in the real world with cable related enginering have shown its absolutely fake and overpriced on many a front. This nonsense has been going on for decades, cable manufacturers buying cable for cents dressing it up and selling it for thousands. Even the mastering studios and broadcasting know its all a lie to milk money from consumers. I mean how dumb can it get, people spending a fortune on cables so they can hear the utmost detail from a recording, that was recorded with cable that costs often under a dollar per meter, though modern proffesional cables now cost a couple of dollars per meter for the best regarded brands. Your batteries added to cables. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gavacpetq95sopY lovely reveal of how fake Audioquest are these days, and yeah, I used to use an Audioquest loom many years ago. Many AES enginners and proffesionals have shown manufacturers lie, and still manufacturers refuse to buy the proper test equipment and reveal the truth about their cables.

Good video. I see a lot of people use those sanding sponges to remove scratches. That is the absolute worst thing you can do. Scotch-Brite pads and finish with 0000 steel wool is all you need. This is especially important if you have an older Rolex with the embossed logo on the bracelet.
