Hi bud..awesome video.. im using my launch pad mini to trigger all 64 pads individually for each slot/sample? My question to you is - How did you map the pads to change colour? So if slot 1 cell 1 is red and not playing how do I map it to change colour to become green so I can see its the active pad ? Then if I change to slot 1 cell 2 the first pad goes back to its original colour then the second pad becomes the active colour? Cheers for sharing your awesome work.. 😊👌

hi! thanks for the kind words 🙂 it's been a long time since i've owned this launchpad or used tracktor but from memory, when mapping using the traktor mapping there is a way to send a signal back for each button and the colors are divided along the 127 step scale, you would have to experiment to find the right color and shade, i believe each color had 4 intensities.

Mine was a batch 2 shipping. And came in a box with padding and not in a plastic bag like this dude’s. Mine works perfectly. Go figure. And the fader had a black notch already on it. So, didn’t even need the fader knob they provided.

Just keep adding bars and change the pattern. No scenes needed
@museonfilm89195 ай бұрын
I guess that's why they allowed 99 patterns per group, and 99 bars for each pattern. Plenty of space to work with.

Just groove, not a song
@electrosonicnebula9 ай бұрын
That's the opposite of a song mode lol. A song mode allows you to press play once and grab your guitar and sing (or whip up a salad) while the machine plays through the entire song. The patterns are there for people to use this thing live. You can still have a poor man's song mode by using a single scene. TE missed the boat by not allowing you to tie the scenes together so they play sequentially - that would be a song mode. But the 99 bars in a single scene should work fine. EDIT: you're the guy with the cool grooves!!! I realize now you were trying to answer my very own question. Since then I've realized you could use that 99 bars limit
@256k_9 ай бұрын
hey yeah i know it's not true song mode of course, but that doesn't mean it wont come at a later date. i mean even the Digitakt took years before it got song mode. this is just a helpful way to "arrange" a project in a more "song like" structure. 🙂 the 99 bars thing is also a possible solution although more cumbersome, different ways to get to the same goal i guess. thanks for watching 🙂

Would you be so kind to make a video for someone who has no knowledge of music making, completely new beginner who doesn’t even know what is chop, scene, project, or anything but want to use this machine to learn from scratch? I know many people bought this as their first machine but even the most basic “tutorial” on KZbin requires some basic music knowledge, and people who are really new have no clue what to do after power on this machine. Any help to understand the basic, explain each button and what exactly they do would be a great help to brand newbie very very much. 🙏🏼
@256k_9 ай бұрын
that's a great idea. thank you for bringing this point of view, i had never really considered that people new to music making would be buying this but you're absolutely right. I'll do my best to create a more comprehensive tutorial for beginners using this machine. 🙏
@Thekidisalright9 ай бұрын
@@256k_ hey thank you so much for your prompt and positive reply, I don’t usually think of this when it comes to new machines but this one from TE really seems like a entry point for many, given the design and price point, reading posts on forums and subreddits I found many people actually have no knowledge but bought the EP-133 because how good looking and least intimidating it looks among others, and want to dip their toes in making beats and what not. Thank you in advance and I will be sure to share the video!

If it comes with a manual you could go through it. It helps you understand the machine and also the world of sequencers. They all do the samething...

@256k_9 ай бұрын
yes you're absolutely right! i wanted to have a simple explanation that brought this structure to light as i think a lot of people were confused about the concept of patterns and scenes and sample groups. it's much more aligned with MPC workflow and i know that not everyone is familiar with it. glad you enjoyed the video 🙂

Yes please go more in depth with more tutorials regarding scene and song mode. This was super helpful!
@electrosonicnebula9 ай бұрын
The scenes are cool because they allow you to build up variations of your beat in an easy way. But you have to switch manually from one to the next. In an update they might allow you to tie them together so an entire song plays through. You can work around that by using a single scene and having as many bars as you like up to 99, which is more than most songs

@256k_9 ай бұрын
thanks, it was just a lil demo to explain this concept. im sure for many people this is obvious but i've spoken to a few people who didn't really understand the whole scene structure and were confused so i made this to explain it to them

People harp on this machine, but it's one of the only machines to be made for the reality of shorts creation. You need a tasty 1.5 minute jam for the gram every day? Welp.
@256k_9 ай бұрын
exactly. and even just for one's own personal enjoyment. not everything needs to be super top notch studio touring quality and does every thing. not everything needs to be a DAW in a box, just like not everyone is a professional touring musician. some of us have normal lives and jobs and just enjoy music making as a hobby and this is perfect for that.

Hi, great beats you've made the musique de cul one in particular. I see you're fully getting into performing with it but it appealed to lay out full song sketches to play guitar and sing over. I see there's no song mode but that you can have 99 bars on each sequence. So essentially you could build a full song that way? Would there be any downsides apart from having to do it in a single scene.
