A friend asked me about the M8 hardware so i filmed a small walkthrough overview and opinion piece on the M8 in terms of hardware and construction.
decided to upload it publicly for anyone else curious.
As requested from a viewer here is the information regarding the switches and keycaps:
The switches i got them from aliexpress, it was the cheapest option possible. however, you don't really need to change the switches, the stock switches are completely fine and high quality. only reason why i swapped mine was because i wanted to have a more linear button vs the stock switch which is tactile.
I also opened up and lubed each individual switch to make it a smoother feeling and less noisy (this is also a very optional step)

as for the keycaps, they are a special run from another youtuber called allmyfriendsaresynths. he does small limited runs of colors on etsy. i don't believe he currently has any available. however, there is now a new option for colored low profile choc switches from a vendor called mkultra:

you could replace the battery yes i believe it is a lipo battery internally with just a couple of wires but it's not like a nokia phone battery let's say. still a lil DIY.

@@bwest6275 there's a pic floating around on reddit with the device open. very user friendly to repair, u can carefully unplug the battery, u can even change other parts too, I guess with minimal soldering.
